Aamir Hussain Khan, a notable bollywood figure has established himself as an exceptional actor, director and film producer. Born to a muslim Pathan family on 14th March, 1965, Aamir Khan is a progeny of the well known politician and scholar Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Aamir Khan’s father Tahir Hussain was a famous film producer while his uncle Nasir Hussain was a film producer, director and actor.
Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta and they have two children, son Junaid and daughter, Ira. After divorcing Reena Dutta he married Kiran Rao in 2005.
Aamir Khan first starred in his production ‘Yaadon ki baarat’ and ‘Madhosh’ as a child artist. However his acting debut came with 1984 release ‘Holi’ directed by Ketan Mehta. Aamir was first noticed in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ opposite Juhi Chawla directed by his cousin Mansoor Khan. Besides being a huge hit, ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ popularized Aamir as the new teen icon. His chocolate boy looks and innocent smile garnered him immense popularity among the young audiences.

Aamir Khan received his first National Film award for critically acclaimed ‘Raakh’. Over next few years, Aamir Khan earned massive fame with commercial and critical successes like ‘Dil’, ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin’, ‘Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar’, ‘Hum Hain Raahi Pyar Ke’, ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Rangeela’. Aamir’s next film ‘Fanaa’ opposite Kajol fared extremely well at the box office. Known for not attending any Indian film award ceremonies, Aamir modestly refused Mdame Tussauds’ invitation for installing his wax statue.
