Akris – the old Swiss luxury clothing brand was founded by Alice Kriemler Schoch in 1922. The word Akris was derived from the letters of (Alice Kriemler Schoch). In the earlier stage, Kriemler Schoch created simple, dotted aprons on a sewing machine. She saw a series of transition, but under the creative guidance of Alber Kriemler. She saw considerable development in the quality of design which had won them international accolades. Albert is known for his creativity and as a man of high-quality. In 1995, she introduced a less expensive line of designer wear with the name Akris Punto.

In 2000, it got into the French Chamber Syndicale, the governing body of the French fashion industry. It was one of the fastest growing-designer company and one of the top sellers at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus stores in the 2000s. Until 2004, it did not participate in the Paris Fashion Week. The company’s headquarter is located in the embroidery capital of St. Gallen, Switzerland, with over 200 employees on the creative, administrative and marketing front of the company. Fall 2011 on March 6 in Paris saw a different kind of Akris show than it used to be, like a vicuna bolero worn over a cashmere coat that almost looked like velvet, and some new additions to the house’s burgeoning line of bags, horsehair iPad cases. The collection reflected a more subtle and appealing influence of the modern day fashion with mixed fabrics. The name stands for modern luxury. Undeniably discreet, feminine, elegant are some of the features in her designs. Akris ready-to-wear designer clothing is marked for their uncompromising quality and creative flair.
