Anushka Sharma is a well known bollywood actress who moved the tinsel town with her charismatic performance in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan. Born on 1st May, 1988 in Bangalore, Anishka is also a former model. Her father Col. Ajay Kumar Sharma serves the Indian army as an officer while her mother Ashima Sharma is a homemaker. Her elder brother Karnesh, a merchant navy officer was a state-level cricketer. Anushka Sharma attended the Army School and graduated in arts from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore.

Anushka Sharma always aspired to become a successful model and films happened by chance. Her modeling career began with walking the ramp for ace fashion designer Wendell Rodricks's Les Vamps Show the Lakme India Fashion Week. She was later chosen by Wendell Rodrick for his finale show at the Spring Summer '07 Collection. Anushka soon became a popular model and has appeared in many print advertisements and TV commercials for brands like Parachute Hair Oil, Spinz Talc, Silk & Shine, Whisper, Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio.

She is seen in a sensuous glam avatar in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Badmash Company’ directed by actor turned director Parmeet Sethi. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film features Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Ch?ng and Vir Das. Anuska’s image makeover in ‘Badmaash Company’ and a sultry kissing scene with Shahid Kapoor has made her popular among the mainstream commercial filmmakers. Shot in scenic locations in New York, Atlantic City, Philadelphia, Bangkok, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, ‘Badmash Company’ has received mixed reviews from the critics. However the film earned success at the box office.
Anushka will soon be seen in YRF’s next project produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Maneesh Sharma. Maneesh Sharma has earlier worked as an Associate Director of ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, ‘Fanaa’ and ‘Aaja Nach Le’. The untitled film stars Anushka Sharma opposite new comer Ranveer Singh. Anushka and Ranveer play wedding planners in the film. Anushka has also signed Mukesh Talreja’s next production venture opposite Akshay Kumar. Titled ‘Patiala House’, the film is directed by Nikhil Advani and also features famed actors Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia.
