Arjan Bajwa is a popular model turned India actor known for his performances in award winning films like ‘Guru’, ‘Arundhati’ and ‘Fashion’. Arjan made his acting debut with the 2001 release Telugu film ‘Sampangi’ and ventured into Bollywood with ‘Who Tera Naam Tha’ released in 2004. Arjan Bajwa has a successful modeling career; he has walked the ramp for leading fashion designers. Moreover Arjan also appeared alongside divas like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Priety Zinta in the TV commercials for reputed brands like Lux, Veet and Videocon.

Arjan Bajwa was born on September 3, 1977 in Delhi, he belongs to a Punjabi Sikh jatt family and his name is derived from the name of the fifth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Arjan Bajwa’s father Late Mr. S.S Bajwa served as the Deputy Mayor of Delhi while his mother is a homemaker. Arjan Bajwa grew up in Delhi and obtained a degree in Architecture along with a black belt in Taekwondo.

After enjoying a successful stint in the fashion world, Arjan Bajwa decided to join the film industry. He adopted the screen name Deepak in Telugu films and made his debut in ‘Sampangi’. In the early 200s, he appeared in a couple of other Telugu films like ‘Neethodu Kavali’, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telugu ‘Kanulu Musina Neevaye’ and ‘Premalo Pavani Kalyan’. Arjan Bajwa made his Bollywood debut in the year 2004 as a protagonist in Sandesh Kohli’s ‘Woh Tera Naam Tha’. The film starred debutant Kanchi Kaul and actors like Amrish Puri, Rajat Bedi, Prem Chopra and Rajeev Verma. The film could not do well at the box office owing to its low budget and not so popular star cast.

Arjan Bajwa earned positive reviews for his performance as an antagonist in Mani Ratnam’s commercial and critical success ‘Guru’. ‘Guru’ starred Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan and Madhavan, while Mallika Sherawat appeared in a sizzling dance number. ‘Guru’ became the first Indian film to receive a fully fledged mainstream international premiere at the Elgin Theatre in Canada. The film won several laurels including five Filmfare awards and another seven nominations. Arjan Bajwa played a significant role in Suhail Tatari’s ‘Summer 2007’ based on the true incidents of farmers' suicides in India. ‘Summer 2007’ also starred Anupam Kher’s son Sikandar Kher
Gul Panag, Yuvika Choudhary, Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta. Arjan Bajwa played the male lead alongside Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Mughda Godse in ‘Fashion’. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, ‘Fashion’ unveiled the dark side and secrets of fashion world. The film was a blockbuster and earned immense critical acclaim. Arjan Bajwa won the Stardust award for Breakthrough Performance while ‘Fashion’ won several Filmfare, IIFA, Star Screen and Stardust Awards along with the two National Awards.
Arjan Bajwa appeared in a pivotal role in Kodi Ramakrishna’s superhit Telugu thriller ‘Arundhati’, co-starring Anushka Shetty, Sonu Sood and Sayaji Shinde. The film became the first blockbuster of the year and was honored with several Nandi awards. He next starred alongside Nagarjuna, Trisha Krishnan and Mamta Mohandas in Sreenu Vaitla’s ‘King’ and alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna and Priyamani in Mahadev’s ‘Mithrudu’. Arjan played the lead role in the recently released Bollywood thriller film ‘Hide N Seek’ directed by Shawn Arranha. The film however did not feature big stars but managed to do well at the box office owing to its interesting screenplay, excellent direction and impeccable performances. Arjan is currently filming for ‘Tell Me Oh Khuda’ and ‘Crook’.
