Arjun Rampal is a popular Bollywood actor and a former supermodel. Arjun shot to fame in 1994 when he was declared Society's Face of the year. After a few successful years in modelling, Arjun Rampal joined the Indian film industry in 2001. Arjun Rampal was born on 26th November, 1972 to a Punjabi father Amarjeet Rampal and Dutch mother, Gwen. Arjun attended the prestigious Kodaikanal International School in Tamil Nadu and Barnes School in Nashik, Mumbai. Arjun is married to Mehr Jesia, former Miss-India and supermodel and the couple is blessed with daughters, Mahikaa and Myra. Arjun Rampal was first spotted by ace fashion designer Rohit Bal in a discotheque in Delhi. At that time, Arjun was studying at the famous Hindu College in Delhi. Rohit Bal promoted Arjun Rampal and he soon became the most popular Indian supermodel. During the shooting of a TV commercial for Monte Carlo, Arjun met filmmaker Ashok Mehta who casted him in his film ’Moksha’ opposite Manisha Koirala. Though ’Moksha’ was supposed to be his debut film, Arjun Rampal was first seen in Rajiv Rai’s ‘Pyaar Ishq aur Mohabbat’. Rajiv Rai’s romantic drama also starred Sunil Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani and Kirti Reddy. ‘Moksha’ became his second release and Arjun was well received by the audiences.

Though his initial films like ‘Pyaar Ishq aur Mohabbat’ , ‘Moksha’ and ‘Deewanapan’ failed at the box office, his next release ‘Aankhein’ became a mega hit. In ‘Aankhein’, Arjun got an opportunity to work with established actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen. Arjun received the International Indian Film Academy Face of the Year Award in 2002.He also participated in the Temptations 2004 world tour with stars like Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerjee, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, and Priyanka Chopra. Arjun was seen in supporting roles in Karan Johar’s multi-starrer ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don - The Chase Begins Again’.

Arjun Rampal ventured into film production with his production company Chasing Ganesha Films. The first film he produced ‘I See You’ failed at the box office. Arjun Rampal received critical acclaim for his villainous role in ‘Om Shanti Om’. Directed by Farah Khan, ‘Om Shanti Om’ became a super hit and earned several awards for Arjun. Arjun Rampal next appeared in Rituparno Ghosh's parallel cinema English film ‘The Last Lear’. Also featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Priety Zinta, ‘The Last Lear’ was premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.

The turning point in Arjun Rampal’s came with the super success of ‘Rock On!!’ released in 2008. His performance as the lead guitarist of a rock band won accolades from the critics. Arjun received his first National Award for the Best Supporting Actor for ‘Rock On!!’. He also won the best supporting actor award at the Filmfare. Arjun has also featured in an international TV commercial for Schweppes Drink alongside Hollywood diva Nicole Kidman. The commercial is produced by Sir Ridley Scott and directed by notable international director Shekhar Kapur. Arjun Rampal is currently working on Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Ra.One’ alongside Shahrukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2 - The Chase Continues’. Arjun is also appearing in Sajid Khan’s comedy film ‘Housefull’ scheduled to release in April, 2010.
