Ashley Isham

Ashley Isham was born in Singapore in the year 1979. He was one of the most promising fashion designers in Singapore today and from the year 1996; Ashley Isham has been residing in London. During the Fashion Week in London in the year 1996, Ashley Isham’s collections were always on the list of the diary each spring. Ashley Isham was the owner of “Aquaint” which was a popular boutique located in London and he also owns the flagship store that is named after him which was located at the Hotel Fullerton in Singapore. Because he has lots of accomplishments in his designing career, he has been winning awards like the award given to her in the year 2007 for Berita Harian Achiever of the Year.

When Ashley Isham was just a little boy, he grew up in a common household of Malay; he always watched and offered help in sewing work for his dressmaker mother. Ashley Isham was never satisfied with the excessive limited insufficient designs in the local shop in their place and so he began making his own imaginative designs for his personal clothing to make it comfortable and fashionable to wear. This creative fashion designer started to sew his personal pants when he was at the early age of 12 together with his sister named Khaty who was actually Ashley Isham’s actual doll like Barbie in experimenting his personal designs.

He has been wishing to see a lovely snow, sometime in December in the year 1995, Ashley Isham went to Amsterdam. After staying for many years in Netherlands, Ashley Isham got a chance to travel in London to complete his diploma at the Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design to take fashion design course. It was very unfortunate to him when he went to the school to passed his applications without his knowledge that that the applications has been closing 3 months already and the session was about to start, lucky for him that the director of the school was appreciating his portfolio and began his studies on the first day that Ashley Isham had passed his application for the school’s admission. During his education at Middlesex University and London College of Fashion, Ashley Isham was supported by the Swiss Investment Bank. His personal design has been an eye-catching of one of the executive of the Swiss Investment Bank, who, at that time of the fashion shows of the school, was present.

After he opened doors for his first store “Aquaint” in London in 2002, he opened another store “Ashley” in 2004 at Conduit Street. Aside from his 2 stores, there are more than twenty chic shops all over the world that is carrying his personal designs. His designs associated women’s, well-apparel dresses with the inspired detailing and motifs of the Southeast Asian culture. Aside from collaborating the local and international celebrities and poplar brands all over the world, he also made designs for Coca cola.

In the year 2000, he put up his own label called Ashley Isham and had a chance to create his very first personal collections in that year as well. From 2003, his collection has been regularly featured in the fashion Week of London every year. Ashley Isham gained international observation when he pictured the British royal family Princess Zara Philips at the Ascot contest. Right after that event, he was chosen as the British Academy of Film & Television 2004 award as the official designer. In this event, he dressed the celebrity stars namely Keira Knightley and Angelina Jolie. In December 2005, his excellent gowns from his collections of Spring Summer in 2006 became the cover of British Travel Magazine’s Conde Nast Traveler on its issue number 100 and during the 5th season of the America’s Nest Model in the same year, he was also marked as one of the celebrity guests.
