The Complan girl Ayesha Takia is a well known bollywood actress popular for her lively and vivacious persona. Ayesha was born on 10th April, 1986 to Gujarati father, Nishit and Anglo-Indian mother, Faridah in Mumbai. Ayesha Takia studied at the St. Anthony's High School but could not attend college owing to her modeling and acting commitments. After dating restaurateur Farhan Azmi for a while, Ayesha Takia and Farhan finally got married on March 1, 2009. Farhan’s father Abu Azmi is a well known politician and a Samajwadi Party leader.

Ayesha faced the cameras at a tender age of four, she’s still remembered for her TV commercial for Complan alongside Shahid Kapoor. Ayesha featured in Falguni Pathak’s music video at an age of fifteen. She was later seen in DJ Aqeel’s remix video ‘Shake It Daddy’ and was noticed by bollywood filmmakers. Ayesha Takia first signed Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Socha Na Tha’ opposite Abhay Deol, veteran actor Dharmendra’s nephew. However Abbas Mustan’s ‘Tarzaan: The Wonder Car’ became her debut film. Though the film could not do well at the box office, Ayesha received the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award and IIFA Star Debut for ‘Tarzan: The Wonder Car’. Her next release ‘Socha Na Tha’ was director Imtiaz Ali’s directorial debut and the film was well received among young audiences. Imtiaz Ali is known for blockbuster movies ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Love Aaj Kal’.
 Ayesha Takia next appeared in a few unsuccessful movies like Anant Mahadevan’s ‘Dil Maange More’, David Dhawan’s ‘Shaadi No.1’, Satish Kaushik’s ‘Shaadi Se Pehle’, Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Home Delivery’ and Naseeruddin Shah’s ‘Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota’. Though these movies failed at the box office, Ayesha’s performance was well received and she got an opportunity to work with the best filmmakers in bollywood. In a career of around fifteen films, Ayesha has worked with distinguished performers like Naseeruddin Shah, Salman Khan. Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Nagarjuna, Ajay Devgan, Akshay Khanna, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Boman Irani.
Ayesha Takia earned huge acclaim for her non-glamorous performance in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Dor’. Ayesha Takia won several awards for ‘Dor’, including , Star Screen Award Best Actress (Critics), Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award, Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards and Zee Cine Critics Award for Best Actress. Ayesha Takia also starred in Telugu film ‘Robbery’ opposite Tollywood star Nagarjuna, the film was later dubbed in Hindi and released as ‘Super’. Ayesha Takia was also applauded for Nikhil Advani’s multi-starrer ‘Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love’ and Anurag Kashyap’s ‘No Smoking’ where she played a double role. Reckoned as one of the most gorgeous and talented leading ladies of Bollywood, Ayesha Takia recently appeared in Nagesh Kukunorr’s ‘8X10 tasveer ’ opposite Akshay Kumar and Prabhu Deva’s action drama ‘Wanted’ opposite Salman Khan. ‘Wanted’ became one of the biggest hits and highest grossing films of 2009. Ayesha’s upcoming film ‘Paathshala’ opposite Shahid Kapoor is set to release in April, 2010. Based on the shortcomings of Indian educational system, the movie is directed by Milind Ukey and produced by Ahmed Khan. Ayesha is also working on other projects like Nikhil Advani’s animated film ‘Ab Dilli Door Nahin’,‘Naughty @ Forty’, ‘Aap Ke Liye Hum’ and ‘Bemisaal’.
