Basso and Brooke

The famous designers Basso & Brooke met at nightclub in London in the year 2001 and started to launch their compellation line in the year 2003. After Basso & Brooke won the Fashion Fringe Award in London in 2004, this British-Brazilian duo has been achieving a distribution and production agreement with “Aeffe” and was able to join the Fashion Week in London after a year. Basso & Brooke were well-known for dramatic ready-to-wear in gravity-enduring wild graphics and measurements that earned differentiations to first John Gallain.

Christopher Brooke was born in Newark in Nottinghamshire UK in 1974 and he was studying fashion designing at University of Kingston from 1992 until 1995. Christopher Brooke completed his studies in the university with honors of first class before he completed an MA for women’s wear from Central Saint Martin’s College in 1995 until 1997. Before he met Bruno Basso sometime in 2002 and putting up their label, Christopher Brooke went to Joe Casely-Hayford to assist after one year from his graduation day. On the other hand, Bruno Basso was born in Santos, Brazil in the year 1978. He was working as a graphic designer, producer, curator and art director since 1998. He was studying Journalism in 1996 until 1999 at the Catholic University of Santos. He was also studying Advertising in 2000 until 2001 at University of St. Cecilia.

In 2004 sometime in November, these fashion designers Basso & Brooke had signed contract with Aeffe for manufacturer for luxury goods, which is for 2 periods to produce and deliver the collections for women’s wear made by Basso & Brooke. The collection for Jean Paul Gaultier, Narciso Rodriquez, Moschino, Pollini and Alberta Feretti producer is Aeffe.

It was in the year 2005 when the Basso & Brooke was showing their on-schedule at the Fashion Week in London with “The Succubus and Other Tales” title, the show was using an element of mediaeval with soft clothing and organized tailoring to feel the controlled eroticism. The fashion collections was characterized the debut agreement of Basso & Brooke with Swarovski. Their shows also displayed as the interpretations of carnival and the American country of 50’s to 19th century scientific and technical illustration. The Basso & Brooke collections were also composed of Science and Fiction in 2006 Autumn/Winter show, Vanity Affair in 2006 Spring/Summer fashion show. The best and fabulous creations and fashion shows of these fantastic designers Basso & Brooke was held in the collections gallery which includes Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The name and label of Basso & Brooke has been an award winning and was launched by this duo amazing fashion designers. The duo has already make lots of spots by the Time Out magazine called “The New Wild Boys”. They were also received the award for Best Young Designers of the Year in 2006 by Elle Style Award and awarded also in the Fashion Fringe in the year 2005. Their collections were available in stores such as L’eclaireur in Paris and Tokyo, F.J. Benjamin (Singapore), Cult (Donetsk, UA), Harrods (London, UK), Harvey Nichols (Hong Kong, China), Lotte (Seoul, Korea), Day and Night (San Petersburg, Russia), Podium (Moscow, Russia) and Tad (Milan and Tome, Italy)
