Eric Bergère father was a children's garments salesman. So Eric Bergère childhood was evident, by an early obsession for fashion. Eric Bergère and his three brothers accompanied their father to boutiques and worked in the basement of their house to make the initial design. Eric Bergère was allergic to many things so when he watched T.V, he would start designing novel clothes for the celebrities he saw.
Eric Bergère obtained a technical diploma from the textile industry in his home town and from there on moved to Paris to study in Esmod School of fashion for two years. He was felicitated with first prize in 1980 in his graduation. This was the turning point after which there was no looking back. His journey to be amongst the best designers had begun.
Eric Bergère was highly proficient in his work and had a profound sense of fashion. He was trained under Thierry Mugler after which, seeing his astounding work in the fashion arena, Hermés appointed him as the head of the women's ready to wear collection. Eric Bergère modernized the venerated business by designing some of the fabulous collection of jackets, shoes, handbags etc, which did wonders in the fashion industry. From 1986 to 1994 Eric Bergère worked and assisted the well-known and the established designers after which in 1995, he initiate and created his own company. Finally he decided to inaugurate his own label and also presented his first collection in 1996.During his 1996 collection, singer Elton John was highly impressed with his fashion sense and purchased every piece of his menswear collection. Eric Bergère received a lot of admiration and adulation for his work of elegance and quality.
In 2002 Eric Bergère initiated to venture worldwide and therefore collaborated with various international brands. He also participated in various fashion shows; spring summer and winter fall and received incredible compliments, and from there on work began to grow leaps and bounds.
His collection were from head to toe, meaning it included accessories, shirts, wedding trousseau ,suits for men and women, handbags ,shoes etc. Exhibitions were hosted with wide-range of collections and at times were based on themes for example ultra noir, Citoyens boheme etc.
Eric Bergère is an artistic director, who designs ready to wear and knit collection for men, women and children and is also renowned consultant. Anything to do with fashion, Eric Bergère name is always highlighted and flashed in the business, be it directly or indirectly.
Though Eric Bergère has a global vision, he likes being involved from the preliminary stage. He has also been a fashion consultant on specific wardrobe collections, advertising campaigns, concerts, music videos etc.
