Daughter of the dream girl of Indian cinema, Hema Malini and the bollywood he-man, Dharmendra, Esha Deol is an Indian actor and a well known face in Hindi films. Born on 2nd November, 1982, Esha is trained in Odissi and Bharatanatyam forms of classical dances.

Esha Deol’s younger sister Ahana is also a well trained dancer and aspires to become a film director. Ahana is currently dating VJ Aditya and is working as assistant director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzarish’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Esha Deol’s half siblings Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are also renowned bollywood actors.
Esha attended the Jamnabai Narsee School and later joined the Oxford University. Esha Deol holds a Masters Degree in Media Arts and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Technology. Esha Deol excelled as a soccer player at the state level and was also selected in national team. Esha and Ahana have learned classical dance forms from their mother, Hema Malini and Odissi guru Rabindra Atibuddhi. Hema Malini has appeared in a number of phenomenal dance performances with daughters Esha and Ahana.
Following the footsteps of her parents, Esha decided to venture into Hindi films with the 2002 release ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche’ co-starring Jaya Bachchan, Sanjay Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani. Esha got rave reviews for the movie and won the best Female Debut Award at the Filmfare, Star Screen and Bollywood Movie Awards. Esha later appeared with Hrithik Roshan in ‘Na Tum Jano Na Hum’ and Tusshar Kapoor in ‘Kuch to Hai’. Esha plunged into Tamil films with ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ wherein she portrayed the character of a French teacher.
Esha featured in Mani Ratnam’s commercially and critically successful film ‘Yuva’ in a supporting role alongside Ajay Devgan, Rani Mukherjee, Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi. Esha was next seen in Yashraj Films’ smash hit ‘Dhoom’ that earned her a Filmfare nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. Esha also worked in moderately successful ‘Kaal’ produced by Karan Johar. Esha was applauded for her exceptional performance in Harry Baweja’s ‘Main Aisa Hi Hoon’, Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Dus’, Anees Bazmee’s ‘No Entry’, Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Ankahee’, Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Just Married’ and Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Darling’.
Esha Deol was seen in negative roles in ‘Ankahee’ alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Amisha Patel and in ‘Darling’ alongside Fardeen Khan and Isha Koppikar. Though Esha has mostly worked as a part of ensemble cast, she has always made an impeccable impression with her crisp expressions and the right mix of emotions. Esha received a national award for being a part of J.P. Dutta’s war saga ‘LOC’.
A fitness fanatic, Esha loves to dance and workout. She is not very comfortable with Hindi and prefers to converse in English and Tamil. Esha was romantically linked with Aftab Shivdasani after they met on the sets of her debut film. However both of them denied such rumors and Esha is supposedly single. Esha has not appeared in movies since her last release ‘One Two Three’, it is believed that she was off to US to learn western dance forms like Ballet, Salsa, Jazz and Tango.
Esha Deol will soon hit the screens with her mom’s directorial debut alongside Rekha and Abhishek Bachchan. She is also working on Shivam Nair's ‘Ghost Ghost Na Raha’ and ‘Tell Me O Khuda’ opposite Rishi Kapoor.
Esha was recently in news for her incredibly transformed figure and a facelift, it is being assumed that Esha went under knives to get perfect rose-bud lips and a thinner and more sculpted jaw line. However Esha denied the story of any kind of cosmetic surgery and informed that her leaner looks were the result of her rigorous gymming sessions.
