The earliest company began as a convention tailor shop opened in 1950 by Jean Goldberg located in Rue Paradise of Nice, France. It was 1958 when the little tailor shop was creating a conventional tuxedo for the popular stars of Hollywood that were in the Cannes Film Festivals of Cote d’Azur. The son of Jean Goldberg named Albert was taking over the tailor shop and changed the name Faconnable in the year 1961, an alternative of the Faconner word which means “to make”. During the time of Albert, the company of Faconnable was extended in the year 1973 and was able to open its basic stores located in Marseilles, Lyon, Saint Lopez, Cannes and Monte Carlo but it was not at the time of 1984 when the company of Faconnable was able to open another outlet located in Paris. It was in 1988 when the label was able to come to the United States by an absolute approval with Nordstrom and it opened its basic boutique in the US in 1993 which is situated in the 5th Avenue of New York City.

The line they retail in the US includes excellent and fashionable accessories and fashionable apparels exclusively for brilliant and gorgeous modern women in the year 1995. It was in 1997 when the company of Faconnable extended its presence in the US by beginning another two latest stores located on the West Coast in Costa Mesa and Beverly Hills. It was in 2000 of September when Nordstrom was paying $170 million just to purchase the exclusive and excellent brand of Faconnable. The company was sold out by Albert Goldberg to the Nordstrom, Inc. The 36 boutiques of Faconnable in Europe have been operated by Nordstrom and the label was able to sell at the stores of Nordstrom exclusively. The Nordstrom INC was able to sell the brand of Faconnable for about $200 million to the Lebanese personal equity business called M1 GROUP and it was reported on the 29th of June 2007 by the New York Post and the following month the deal was finally finalized.
