Fardeen Khan

Fardeen Khan is a famed Bollywood actor who has appeared in superhit films like ‘No Entry’ and ‘Heyy Babyy’. Fardeen was born on 8 March 1974 to Sundari Khan and actor turned director- producer late Feroze Khan. Fardeen’s uncle Sanjay Khan is a well known actor, director, producer and writer. His cousin Suzzane Khan is married to Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan while Suzzane’s younger brother Zayed Khan is also a popular actor.

Fardeen Khan was romantically involved with Ruheen for around four years and during this time period they broke up around 379 times. However Ruheen stood by him like a rock in the times of distress and shifted to Mumbai without the consent of her parents. The couple split owing to incompatibility and Fardeen later dated Riya Sen for a while before getting married to Natasha Madhwani at Amby Valley in December 2005. Natasha is the daughter of Mumtaz, a popular actress of yesteryears.

After attending Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu, Fardeen Khan completed most of his education in the United States. He also enrolled in a Business Managemnt course at the University of Massachusetts but left it midway to join Kishore Namit Kapoor's Acting Institute in Mumbai.

Fardeen Khan was launched by his father Feroze Khan in ‘Prem Aggan’ released in the year 1998. The film directed and produced by Feroze Khan failed at the box office and despite winning the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, Fardeen was criticized for his western accent and lack of expressions. It was ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma who came to his rescue and signed his as the male lead in two of his films- ‘Jungle’ and ‘Pyar Tune Kya Kiya’. Both the films were reasonably successful and Fardeen was well received.

Fardeen Khan earned positive reviews for his performance in ‘Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ opposite Twinkle Khanna. Though he is often criticized for his choice of roles, particularly in films like ‘Hum Ho Gaye Aapke’, ‘Kitne Door Kitne Paas’, ‘Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein’ and ‘Khushi’. Fardeen Khan and his father Feroze Khan were seen together in ‘Janasheen’ and later in ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’.

Fardeen Khan won accolades for his performance in ‘Dev’ alongside established actors like Amitabh Bachchan and On Puri. ‘Dev’ received the Best Film- Critics Choice Award at the fIlmfare. He was again appreciated for his performance in a negative role in ‘Fida’ also starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. Fardeen’s next few films like ‘No Entry’ alongside Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Esha Deol, ‘Shaadi No. 1’ alongside Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, Sharman Joshi, Ayesha Takia, Soha Ali Khan, ‘Pyare Mohan’ alongside Vivek Oberoi, Amrita Rao, Esha Deol and ‘Just Married’ opposite Esha Deol became successful at the box office and Fardeen’s performance earned accolades from the critics as well as audiences.

The biggest hit of his career so far is Sajid Khan’s ‘Heyy Babyy’ alongside Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Vidya Balan. The film was inspired from the Hollywood smash hit ‘Three Men and a Baby’.

Fardeen Khan hit the news when he was caught buying cocaine in the year 2001 for which he was charged Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act- Section28. His application for undergoing detoxification was rejected by the Mumbai High Court and had to face trial for possession of prohibited substance.
