Both Doug and Gene Meyer had studied in New York, in Parsons Schools of Design. Gene perused fashion designing after which he took up work with established designers for a period of 11 years. His client list was a combination of all ages but because of his stubborn nature, in the initially phases found it difficult handling the issues with body type and was always shy and panicky to converse about it. But in due course he learnt to deal with it and was also able to handle it gracefully. Gene Meyer then gradually ventured into fashion for men and there on opened various boutiques to cater to both men and women. He was a trend setter in the industry and gained a high reputation for its collection and also became known for his acute sense of fashion by his clients as well as the fashion industry experts.
 He won major awards in men's and women's collection and eventually launched his earliest venture under his name. He started by designing women collection and made some amazing garments. All this also led to many changes in the licensing agreements. The fashion designing field became more professional so as to keep their collection exclusive.
Wining the two CFDA awards that is Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1994 and 1996 were the major highlights and boost in his career. After that Gene Meyer boutique signed a 3 years deal with store chains of Marshall Fields. He also participated in Spring Collections 1996 to 2002 and Fall 19965 collection to 2001. Also various other fashion accessories were launched by him, like ties, scarves, handbags, watches, compact, key rings etc. Doug Meyer exposures to the enchanting world of fashion in the 90’s also helped Gene Meyer gain a deeper understanding in designing and also helped him express, display and construe fashion in a novel way. Both the Meyer brothers are experts individually and bring about uniqueness in their designs in the world of fashion. Their common goal is to create and produce the best design that gives their client utmost satisfaction also keeps them fashion savvy. Their designs are elite and also every aspect of the garment is taken care off. At the same time beautiful and wonderful combinations of colors and fabrics are used to make it look classy. Thus in 2004 both of them opened a designed studio after mutual respect for each other's work and have gained a status for their exclusive range of various products of fashion designing, interior designing, fashion accessories, furniture, fabrics and rugs.
