Hansika Motwani is a young Indian actress known for giving powerful performances in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films. Born on 9th August, 1991 in Indore to Mona Motwani, a dermatologist and Pradeep Motwani, a businessman, Hansika started her career as a child artist. Her parents separated in the year 2004 and she currently stays with her mother and elder brother. The 18 year old actress is doing A levels from Podar International School.

Hansika Motwani started her career at a tender age of eight by appearing in popular shows like ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand’, ‘Hum 2 Hain Na’ and ‘Karishma Kaa Karishma’. Simultaneously she also starred in TV commercials for Hyundai SAntro with Shahrukh Khan, Samsung, Pepsi and Bournvita.
She was first noticed by popular actress Juhi Chawla who is also Mona mOtwani’s client. Juhi recommended her to play the chold lead in Juhi- Govinda starrer ‘Yahoo’; however the film was shelved due to some reasons. Hansika has appeared in a few Hindi films as a child artist alongside distinguished bollywood stars. She was seen in the superhit ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ alongside Rekha, Hrithik Roshan and Priety Zinta, ‘Hawa’ alongside Tabu, ‘Escape from Taliban’ alongside Manisha Koirala and ‘Jaago’ alongside Raveena Tandon and Manoj Bajpai.
She made her adult debut in the Puri Jagannadh’s superhit Telugu film ‘Desamuduru’ opposite Allu Arjun. The film was later dubbed into Malayalam as ‘Hero: The Real Hero’ and in Hindi as ‘Ek Jwalamukhi’. The film became a huge success and the top earners of the year while Hansika Motwani won the coveted Filmfare Best Female Debut (South). After making a high impact in Tollywood, Hansika made her bollywood debut in Prashant Chadha’s ‘Aap ka Suroor’. The film was singer- composer Himesh Reshammiya’s debut film as an actor. Hansika played the love interest of Himesh in the film. ‘Aap ka Suroor’ also starring the sensuous actress Mallika Sherawat in a supporting role was well received by the audiences and became a hit among the masses. Hansika was later seen in the leading role opposite Govinda in ‘Money Hai to Honey Hai’. The film also starred Celina Jaitley, Aftab Shivdasani, Manoj Bajpai and Upen Patel.
Hansika Motwani received positive reviews for her performance in D.Rajendra Babu’s Kannada film ‘Bindaas’ opposite Puneet Rajkumar. She played the female lead in Meher Ramesh’s Telugu superhit ‘Kantri’ also starring Jr. NTR, Tanisha Mukherjee, and Prakash Raj. The film won the prestigious Nandi Award for best choreography and the South Scope Award for Most Stylish Actor and choreography. Hansika was later seen in four Telugu films including M.S.Raju's action oriented romantic film ‘Maska’ opposite Ram, Eeshwar’s ‘Seetharamula Kalyanam’ opposite Nitin, ‘Jayeebhava’ and a cameo appearance in ‘Billa’.
Hansika is presently busy in filming for Prabhu Deva’s Tamil film ‘Ich’ also starring Jayam Ravi and Bollywood babe Katrina Kaif. She will also be seen in Suraj’s Tamil comedy film ‘Mappillai’ alongside Dhanush and Manisha Koirala. Her Hindi film ‘Main Aur Meri Himmat’ is expected to go on floors in a few weeks.
