Recipient of the international award at the Golden Minbar International Film Festival held at Kazan, Russia, Hrithik Roshan is one of the most prominent Bollywood personalities. Hrithik Roshan was born on 10th January, 1974 to a Punjabi family in Mumbai. Hrithik hails from a family of eminent bollywood celebrities- his father Rakesh Roshaan is a successful film producer, director and actor, while is grandfather Roshan and uncle Rajesh Roshan have earned immense respect as music composers.

Hrithik Roshan studied at the Bombay Scottish School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Sydenham college. Hrithik is married to actor and producer sanjay Khan’s daughter Sazanne Khan and the couple is blessed with two sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan.

Hrithik Roshan appeared as a child artist in a few movies released during 1980s, namely ‘Aasha’, ‘Aapke Deewane’ and ‘Bhagwan Dada.’ Before starting his career as the leading actor in bollywood, Hrithik worked as an assistant director in his home productions ‘Karan Arjun’ and ‘Koyla’.

Hrithik made his first appearance as a protagonist in his home production ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’. Released in 2000, ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’ was directed by his father Rakesh Roshan and co-starred another new comer Amisha Patel. Hrithik Roshan soon became the heartthrob of the nation with a typical Mills & Boon lover boy image. He also earned the Filfare Best Male Debut and Best Actor award for ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’. Infact ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’ won a total of 102 awards and thus entered the Limca Book of Records for receiving the most number of awards.

Hrithik Roshan’s next releases ‘Fiza’ and ‘Mission Kashmir’ established him as a bankable star rather than just a lover boy. Subhash Ghai’s ‘Yaadein’ was followed by Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Kabhi Gham’ that earned him the Filmfare Award for the best actor in a supporting role. After a series of flops like’Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ opposite Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji, ‘Na Tum Jano Na Hum’ opposite Esha Deol and ‘Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage’ opposite Amisha Patel in 2002, Hrithik Roshan made a comeback with 2003 release ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. The science fiction flick ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ became a blockbuster with a power packed performance by Hrithik Roshan. Remarkable portrayal of a mentally challenged youngster earned several prestigious awards for hrithik Roshan.

Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Lakshya’ was another critically acclaimed film wherein Hrithik successfully potrayed the dilemma of a young man. Hrithik Roshan continued to win several awards and millions of hearts with his pioneering performances in his home production ‘Krrish’, Yash Raj Films’ ‘Dhoom- 2’ and Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Jodhaa Akbar’. The historic epic ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ did great business in Indian as well as overseas markets.

Hrithik Roshan’s much awaited film ‘Kites’ directed by Anurag Basu is all set to be released in May, 2010. ‘Kites’ is his home production and also features Mexican actress Barbara Mori and Indian National Film Award winner Kangana Ranaut. Hrithik Roshan has also worked as a playback singer for the title track od ‘Kites’. Besides ‘Kites’, Hrithik’s forthcoming projects include Ashutosh Gowariker directed ‘Guzaarish’ opposite the renowned actress Aishwarya Rai.
