Imran Khan is all the rage in Bollywood, having appeared in just three films, Imran has already been declared as the superstar of the coming era. Imran Khan made his acting debut in the new age romantic comedy ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’ and is currently working on a couple of projects with ace filmmakers like Karan Johar, Kunal Kohli and Aamir Khan.
Imran was born as Imran Khan Pal on 13 January 1983 in Madison, Wisconsin in United States to Nuzhat Khan and Anil Pal. His mother Nuzhat Khan is the daughter of notable filmmaker Nasir Hussain and sister of Mansoor Khan known for directing superhit films like ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’, ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’ and ‘Josh’. Actor turned director producer Aamir Khan is Imran’s maternal uncle. Imran’s father Anil Pal is a Ph.D in computer science and used to work as a senior management executive for Yahoo. He presently works at Netflix in Silicon Valley as Director of Operations Engineering.

Imran’s parents separated when he was one and a half and his mother moved to India with him. Imran attended the Bombay Scottish School and later joined a boarding school in Ooty. He moved to California to complete his higher education where he stayed with his father. Imran joined a film making course in Los Angeles and returned to India with an aspiration to become a director.
Imran Khan was seen as a child artist in his uncle’s films ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ and ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’, wherein he portrayed the childhood of Aamir Khan. Imran’s first film in a lead role was Abbas Tyrewala’s ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’ produced by his uncles Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan. Aamir Khan decided to produce ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’ after late Jhamu Sughand backed out of the project. The film starred Imran Khan, Genelia D’Souza, Prateik Babbar and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles. ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’ was a modern age romantic comedy that became a commercial and critical success and Imran became the new heartthrob of the nation.

‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’ won several awards including the best Male dEbut award for Imran Khan at the Filmfare Awards, Star Sabse Favorite Kaun Awards and Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards. Imran Khan was next seen in Sanjay Gadhvi’s thriller ‘Kidnap’ alongside Sanjay dutt, Minisha Lamba and Vidya Malvade. Imran Khan played a villainous role and received the IIFA Best Villain Award for ‘Kidnap’.
Imran’s next film ‘Luck’ was a multistarrer action thriller directed by Soham Shah. The film starred established actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Sanjay Dutt, Danny Denzongpa, Ravi Kishan and debutant Shruti Hassan, Kamal Hassan’s daughter. The film failed to attract the audiences and please the critics.
Imran Khan and his long time girlfriend Avantika Malik got engaged in a private ceremony and later threw a grand party at Avantika’s farmhouse in Khandala. Avantika’s mother Vandana Malik is the head of CNBC-18. It is supposed that Avantika Malik and another heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor dated for five years while in college.
Imran is currently working on three much awaited films- Punit Malhotra’s ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ opposite Sonam Kapoor, ‘Break ke Baad’ opposite Deepika Padukone and ‘Delhi Belly’ opposite Shenaz Treasurywala.
