Jr. NTR is an award winning Telugu actor known for his exemplary performances in films like ‘Simhadri’, ‘Yamadonga’, ‘Aadi’ and ‘Kanthri’ etc. Born as Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao to Nandamuri Harikrishna and Shalini on May 20, 1983 in Hyderabad, Jr. NTR is the grandson of Andhra Pradesh's Former Chief Minister NTR. His grandfather was a renowned actor, director, producer, and politician and the founder of Telugu Desam Party and has served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for three terms. Jr. NTR is engaged to Narne Lakshmi Pranathi and the two are expected to tie the wedlock sometime this year.

Jr. NTR made his adult debut in 'Ninnu Choodalani' released in the year 2001, but the film bombed at the box office and Jr. NTR went unnoticed. However his second film ‘Student No.1’ won rave reviews and became a blockbuster. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, ‘Stdent No. 1’ also starred Gajala and Rajeev Kanakala. It was the debut film of director S.S. Rajamouli who later directed superhit films like ‘Simhadri’ starring Jr. NTR and Bhoomika Chawla, ‘Chatrapati’ starring Prabhas and Shriya Saran, ‘Magadheera’ starring Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal. Student No.1 was a huge success that had a hundred day run in forty two centres and fifty day run in seventy three centres. It was later remade into Tamil.

After appearing in the flop ‘Subbu’, Jr. NTR starred in V.V. Vinayak’s superhit ‘Aadi’ released in the year 2002. ‘Aadi’ also starred Keerti Chawla and Rajan P. Dev in significant roles. ‘Aadi’ became a huge hit and the director VV Vinayak and lead actor Jr. NTR shot to fame with the super success of this film. ‘Aadi’ was later remade into Tamil as ‘Jai’ starring Prashanth. Jr. NTR also won the Nandi Award for Special Jury for ‘Aadi’.

Jr. NTR was next seen in B Gopal’s ‘Allari Ramudu’opposite Arti Aggarwal, ‘Naaga’ alongside Sadha and Raghuvaran, Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Andhrawala’ alongside Rakshitha, Sayaji Shinde and Rahul Dev, VV Vinayak’s ‘Samba’ alongside Bhoomika Chawla, Genelia D'Souza and Prakash Raj, Vara Mullapudi’s ‘Naa Alludu’ starring Shriya Saran, Genelia D'Souza and Ramya Krishnan, B Gopal’s ‘Narasimhudu’ alongside Amisha Patel and Sameera Reddy, Surender Reddy’s ‘Ashok’ opposite Sameera Reddy and Krishna Vamsi’s ‘Rakhi’ also starring Ileana D'Cruz and Charmme Kaur.

Jr. NTR starred opposite Bhoomika Chawla in SS Ramjouli’s blockbuster ‘Simhadri’ that was later remade into Tamil as ‘Gajendra’. ‘Simhadri’ was a blockbuster, had fifty day run in 173 centres, hundred day run in 147 centres and one hundred seventy five day run in fifty two centres. Jr. NTR won immense appreciation for his performance in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Yamadonga’, also starring Mohan Babu, Ali, Mamta Mohandas and Priyamani. The film became a blockbuster and Jr. NTR won Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actor and CineMAA Award for Best Actor.

Jr. NTR consolidated his status as an actor by appearing as the protagonist in Meher Ramesh’s ‘Kantri’ alongside Hansika Motwani, Tanisha and Prakash Raj. Jr. Ntr received a nomination for Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award and won South Scope Stylish Awards Actor- Male, South Scope Stylish Awards - Best Actor, Sitara Awards Best Actor- Male. Jr. NTR was next seen in a cameo role in Yogi’s ‘Chintakayala Ravi’ starring Venkatesh, Mamta Mohandas, Anushka Shetty and Aarti Chhabria and as the lead in VV Vinayak’s ‘Adurs’ also starring Nayantara, Sheela and Mahesh Manjrekar. Jr. Ntr is currently working on a couple of projects including ‘Brindaavanam’ and ‘Shakti’.
