Known for her effervescent persona and vivacious on-screen appearance, Juhi Chawla is a notable bollywood actress. Juhi Chawla was born on 13th November, 1967 to Dr. S. Chawla and Mona Chawla in Ludhiana, Punjab. After graduating from the Sydenham College, Mumbai, She contested the Miss India pageant in 1984 and was crowned as the winner. Juhi Chawla also won the Best Costume Award at the Miss Universe contest in 1984. Juhi Chawla is married to Jai Mehta, a businessman and the couple is blessed with a son and a daughter. Juhi Chawla joined the Indian film industry with 1986 release ‘Sultanat’, however her first leading role came in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ released in 1986. Mansoor Khan’s ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ also starred Aamir Khan, the movie became a huge success and is till date considered as one of the best romantic classics of Indian cinema. Juhi next appeared in commercially successful ventures like ‘Pratibandh’,’ Swarg’ and ‘Bol Radha Bol’. Juhi Chawla was nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award for ‘Pratibandh’ and ‘Bol Radha Bol’.

During early 90s, Juhi Chawla starred in a few reasonably successful movies including Lootere and Aaina, smash hits like Mahesh Bhatt's ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke’ opposite Aamir Khan and Yash Chopra's thriller ‘Darr’ alongside Sunny Deol and Shahrukh Khan.
Juhi Chawla won her first Filmfare Best Actress Award for ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke’ and received another nomination for her exceptional performance in ‘Daraar’. In 1997, Juhi Chawla worked in blockbuster hits ‘Yes Boss’, ‘Deewana Mastana’ and ‘Ishq’. Juhi Chawla won accolades for her consistent performances as she excelled with every film. After working in a number of mainstream Hindi cinema films, Juhi Chawla plunged into parallel cinema with critically acclaimed movies such as ‘3 Deewarein’, ‘7½ Phere’ and ‘My Brother Nikhil’.
In recent years, Juhi appeared in Nikhil Advani's multi-starrer ‘Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love’, ‘Bas Ek Pal’, ‘Swami’, Ravi Chopra's ‘Bhoothnath’,’ Krazzy 4’ and ‘Luck By Chance’. Juhi Chawla appeared as a judge alongside choreographers Saroj Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant in a dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ telecasted on Sony Entertainment Television. Juhi ventured into film production in partnership with actor Shahrukh Khan and filmmaker Aziz Mirza. Their production company Dreamz Unlimited produced a few films like ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’, ‘Asoka’ and ‘Chalte Chalte’. Juhi Chawla did playback singing for the first time in Ravi Chopra’s ‘Bhootnath’. Juhi Chawla and husband Jai Mehta are the co-owners of the cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders participating in the coveted IPL series. Juhi Chawla is currently working on ‘I am Megha’ and ‘Sukhmani’ scheduled to hit the screens in 2010.
