A British- Indian national, Katrina Kaif was born on 16th July, 1984 in Hong Kong, raised in Hawaii and finally moved to England. Katrina’s father Mohammad Kaif hails from Kashmir while her mother Suzzane Turquotte is a native of England. Katrina has seven siblings including a brother and six sisters. ‘Boom’ bombed at the box office and was cast off by the critics; however Katrina was flooded with modelling assignments in India.With her drop dead gorgeous looks she became the face of many renowned brands like Lakme, LG, Coca Cola, Fevicol and Veet. She walked the ramp for most of the top notch fashion houses in India. Katrina Kaif appeared in her first Telugu film ‘Malliswari’ wherein she played the protagonist Princess Malliswari. In 2005, she was seen in a few hindi films including ‘Sarkar’, ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’ and a Telugu film ‘Allari Pidugu’. Katrina’s most ambitious project is Prakash Jha’s political drama ‘Rajneeti’ scheduled to release in June 2010. She is also working on Farah Khan's ‘Tees Maar Khan’ opposite Akshay Kumar. Due to her linguistic limitation, Katrina is constantly taking Hindi lessons, she’s also keenly practising dance to fit in with the Bollywood culture.
