Kavya Madhavan married Nischal Chandran on 5th February, 2009 at the Kollur Mookambika and later a hosted a reception party at Le Meridien in Ernakulam. Kavya proclaimed that she would quit films and enjoy her married life. However only after five months of marital bliss, the couple is reportedly seeking a divorce. Initially it was speculated that the primary reason of the rift between Kavya and Nischal was his suspicious nature and his authoritative mother’s alleged torture.
But later it was claimed by a Tamil magazine that Nischal obtained some obscene pictures and videos of Kavya shot during some kind of nude pooja ritual. The photos and videos were sent by Kavya’s old friend Nandini who shot them without Kavya’s knowledge. It is supposed that the nude pooja was performed by some self-proclaimed Swami in Aluva to get her to the top position in the Malayalam industry. These photos were earlier used by Nandini to blackmail Kavya, however it did not work. In fact Kavya got her fired from the hotel where she worked as a manager. Therefore the irked Nandini sent all these pictures and videos to NIschal, thus creating a stack of problems for Kavya.
After separating from Nischal, Kavya now stays with her parents and is back in the tinsel town. Her recently released ‘Pappi Appacha’ alongside Dileep and Innocent is doing well at the box office. Moreover she also received the Best Actress Award for her 2009 release ‘Banaras’ at the Asianet Film Awards and Mathrubhumi-Amrita Film Awards.
