The couple of designers that has revolutionized the world of modern fashion are the couple of Lalit & Sunita Jalan. This couple has provided the Indian fashion industry with the new designs and products. The beauty of these products and designs lie in their uniqueness and quality. One of the most remarkable features of Lalit & Sunita Jalan is that they started their career from a very small unit. By continuous hard work and determination, they have now become the world renowned fashion designers of India.
Lalit had a sense of designing since his childhood. In his childhood he used to design his clothes by using different types of colors. Later his interest became his profession and in this way India got a fashion designer. And now at that time if we say that Lalit is the top designer of the male fashion then it is not wrong. Lalit had to fight a lot to choose designing as a profession because at the time when he decided to do so, designing was not considered as a profession. But the time was in his favor. He met Sunita. Both of them married and then Sunita became his life partner. After that this duo of Lalit & Sunita Jalan became the most famous designing couple of 90s.
 Both of them started their career as a couple by opening a studio with the name ‘hunar’. It was situated in Kolkata. Both of them presented a wide range of the man wear at that time. In the start they used to design men wear and costumes. But due to growing demand in the fashion world Lalit & Sunita Jalan shifted themselves to the women wear and outfits. They designed a wide range of women wedding and party dresses. And all of their dresses were liked by every woman in India.
Lalit & Sunita Jalan made embroidery their specialization. Both husband and wife designed a lot of dresses with unique embroidery on them. Their hard work and interest in creating new designs made their appearance in annual Femina book.
The fate of Lalit & Sunita Jalan again flourished when Japanese designer KENZO came to India and he asked them to design his personal costume. Both husband and wife worked by days and nights and impressed KENZO by their work.
Their work is being widely spread at different studios in different cities of India. Like hunar in Kolkata, ensemble in Mumbai, portfolio in Cochin and ensemble in New Delhi. Lalit & Sunita Jalan introduced fashion industry with new designs and costumes. Using their creativity and sense of fashion, they have given a new life to world of fashion. Their costumes are not only retailed in India but in many countries around the world. Any person having some sense of fashion likes their design. Most of Bollywood actresses wear their designs. Now a day Lalit & Sunita Jalan is working on women wear and they are trying to give new designs and outfits to film industry.
