Lara Dutta, a former Miss Universe, is a well known Bollywood actress. Lara was born on 16th April, 1978 to Wing Commander L.K. Dutta and Jennifer Dutta in Ghaziabad. Lara’s family relocated to Bangalore when she was young where she attended St. Francis Xavier Girls' High School and the Frank Anthony Public School. Later she graduated in Economics from Bombay University. Lara won the Miss Gladrags Beauty Contest in 1997 and represented India at the Miss Intercontinental. Her victory at the Gladrags resulted in a remarkable modeling career thereafter. Lara Dutta was crowned Miss India Universe in 2000 and went on to winning the Miss Universe title. A perfect blend of beauty and brains, Lara fetched the highest score in the Miss Universe contest till date. In fact, she is supposed to be the most intelligent Miss Universe title holder so far. Lara Dutta became the second Miss India to be crowned as miss Universe, after Sushmita Sen. In the same year, Priyanka Chopra and Diya Mirza won the Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific titles respectively.

After completing her reign as the Miss Universe, Lara Dutta made her bollywood debut in Raj Kanwar’s ‘Andaaz’ alongside Akshay Kumar and debutante Priyanka Chopra. The movie became a box office success and Lara won the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Lara Dutta’s next few films failed at the box office, however her performance as a village girl in ‘Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan received positive reviews. Lara Dutta next appeared in commercially successful movies like Indra Kumar’s ‘Masti’, Anees Bazmee’s ‘No Entry, and Karan Johar’s 'Kaal'. Lara Dutta gave a plausible performance in 2007 smash hit ‘Bhaagam Bhaag’ alongside Akshay Kumar and Govinda. Lara Dutta starred in Shaad Ali’s multi-starrer ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol and Priety Zinta. The movie bombed at the Indian box office but fared reasonably well in the overseas market. Her next release was David Dhawan’s ‘Partner’, a remake of the Hollywood film ‘The Hitch’. The film also featured Govinda, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, the commercially successful film earned positive reviews for Lara’s performance.
 Lara Dutta was recently seen in ‘Blue’ and ‘Do Knot Disturb’. Lara Dutta took rigorous swimming lessons for underwater thriller ‘Blue’. Lara Dutta’s ‘Do Knot Disturb’ also featured Govinda, Sushmita Sen and Ritesh Deshmukh, the comedy film by David Dhawan failed to perform well at the box office.
Lara’s upcoming film ‘House Fulll’ is scheduled to hit the screens in April, 2020. Directed by Sajid Khan, ‘House Full’ also stars Akshay , Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Ritesh Deshmuk. Lara Dutta was honored with Rajiv Gandhi Award in 2008 for her contribution to Bollywood. Lara was nominated for the IIFA Best Actress Award n 2006 for ‘No Entry’ and Stardust best Actress Award in 2009 for ‘Billu’. Lara Dutta was in a relationship to model and actor Kelly Dorji for a few years. She dated American professional baseball player, Derek Jeter during her stay in New York. She’s currently rumored to be dating actor and model Dino Morea.
