Minissha attended the Sherwood Hall and Chettinad Vidyashram in Chennai. Minissha Lamba earned an English Honors Degree from Miranda House, Delhi University with an ambition to become a journalist. Minissha pursued modeling as a hobby and had no plans to join cinema. However she was chosen to feature in a TV commercial for Cadburys and was later seen in a number of commercials, namely for LG, Sony, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, Sunsilk among others.
 Minishaa Lamba caught the attention of bollywood filmmakers by appearing in Himesh Reshammiya’s music video ‘Tera Suroor‘. Minnisha Lamba made her cinematic debut in Shoojit Sarcar’s ‘Yaahan’ , a love story in the backdrop of Kashmmir. Minissha Lamba’s performance became the highlight of this critically acclaimed film and she was nominated for the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award in 2005. She was next seen in a supporting role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Corporate’ also starring Bipasha Basu, Kay Kay Menon, and Raj Babbar. The film became a commercial and critical success and earned a number of awards.
Minnisha Lamba featured in leading roles in Suresh Krishna’s ‘Rocky: The Rebel’ alongside Zayed Khan and Isha Sharvani, in Raj Kaushal’s ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ alongside Arsgah Warsi and Sanjay Dutt. She also worked in Excel Entertainment’s multi-starrer ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’ also featuring Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani, Kay Kay Menon, Raima Sen and Abhay Deol.
Minissha was appreciated for her performance as Mahi Ahluwalia in Siddharth Anand's film ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ alongside Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. Minissha emerged out of her sweet and girl next door image when she donned a bikini for the first time in Sanjay Gadhvi’s thriller ‘Kidnap’ alongside Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan. Minissha suddenly became the talk of the town with her sultry and seductive looks in ‘Kidnap’.
Minissha Lamba has also worked in films like ‘Anamika’ opposite Dino Morea and critically acclaimed ‘Shaurya’. Minissha was recently seen in Shyam Benegal’s ‘Well Done Abba’ starring Boman Irani as the Abba. Released in March, 2010, the film earned huge critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival. A satirical comedy- ‘Well Done Abba’ is considered as Minissha’s best performance so far.
Minissha Lamba realised her dream of owning a home in mUmbai by purchasing an apartment in Raj Classique, and has become neighbours with celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor. Minissha Lamba also walked the ramp with neetu Chandra and Nandana Sen at the Kolkatta Fashion Week.
After joining the bikini bandwagon in ‘Kidnap’, the new sexy avatar of Minissha Lamba was recently seen on the cover page of magazines like ‘Maxim’ and ‘The Man’. Minissha Lamba is an ardent adventurer and enjoys bungee jumping and kite surfing. She confesses that in a man intelligence is what turns her on.
Minissha Lamba is currently working on a series of films called "Mysticism”; the series consists of eight different versions to be directed by four different directors including Soham Shah and Sanjay Gadhvi.
