Neil Nitin Mukesh
Neil Nitin Mukesh is a young Indian actor who has appeared in a few Hindi films and has already become the new heartthrob of the nation. Grandson of veteran singer Mukesh and son of singer Nitin Mukesh, Neil chose to act in films rather than working behind the scenes. The multitalented actor is also a singer and composer but is not very keen on following it as a full time career.

Neil was born as Neil Nitin Mukesh Chand Mathur on 15 January 1982 in Mumbai. The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar named him after astronaut Neil Armstrong. Neil attended the Greenlawns High School in Mumbai and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from HR College. During his vacations, he joined Kishore Namit Kapoor’s 4-month workshop and also enrolled at Anupam Kher’s institute. He began his career by assisting Aditya Chopra during the making of ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ starring Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor.

However as a child artist, he had appeared in films like Yash Chopra’s ‘Vijay’ starring Rajesh Khanna, Raj Babbar, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor and Vimal Kumar’s ‘Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni’ starring Govinda and Kimi Katkar. Neil made his adult debut in Sriram Raghavan’s crime thriller film ‘Johny Gaddar’ alongside Dharmendra and Rimi Sen. The film won huge critical acclaim and is considered one of the pathbreaking films in the industry that could revive the thriller genre. It is speculated that the film will soon be remade by a Hollywood filmmaker. Ray Haboush, Los Angeles based producer-distributor has acquired the rights for ‘Johny Gaddar’ and the Hollywood version of the film will soon be seen on the silver screen. Ray Haboush has produces films like ‘Last House on the Left’, ‘Almost Pregnant’ and ‘Catering Impossible: M: i: III’, among others.

Neil Nitin Mukesh earned rave reviews for his debut film and was nominated for the Best Male Debut Award at the Filmfare, Star Screen and Stardust Awards. He received the Fresh Face of the Year Award at IIFA and the Best Villain Awards at the Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards. Neil was next seen in Jehangir Surti’s ‘Aa Dekhen Zara’ opposite Bollybood bombshell Bipasha Basu. Neil also lent his voice for the title track of the film. Neil starred alongside John Abraham and Katrina Kaif in Yash Raj Films’ ‘New York’ based on the aftermath of 9/11 terrorist attack. Neil Nitin Mukesh won accolades for his performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Jail’, the film aroused controversies pertaining to Neil’s nudity scene to be featured in the film. However in an attempt to placate the Censor Board, the scene was later blurred. Neil Nitin Mukesh is expected to be seen in a Malayalam film titled ‘Kandhar’The film is directed by Major Ravi and features Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ganesh Venkatraman. Neil’s forthcoming Bollywood films include Vishal Bhardwaj’s much awaited ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ opposite Priyanka Chopra and Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Lafange Parindey’ opposite Deepika Padukone. Neil Nitin Mukesh recently broke up with his long time girlfriend Priyanka Bhatia, a designer. The couple was planning to tie the knot by the end of this year, but called off their relationship citing personal reasons. Neil Nitin Mukesh is now single, however it is reported that Neil was seen getting extra protective about Deepika Padukone during the shoot of their forthcoming film ‘Lafange Parindey’.
