Phulkari work is a very nice craft made of small stitches of darn over the cloth with a touch of artistic designs. The stitches were made of different detailed designs to make the cloth beautiful to look at, with the use of silk yarn that comes in broad colors and shades. Phulkari work is woven by hand in the base of the cloth to add more attractive designs and to enhance the charms and beauty of the cloth that was being made and when the stitches are done and put it on the design of the cloth, it is called as “Bagh”.  Pat means, thread that uses silk yarn of thread which came from different areas of Kashmir and Bengal, also in Afghanistan and in China.

Phulkari artwork designs were being used on special occasions most especially during the wedding. The most usual designs and patterns embroidered are those designs of vegetables, fruits, and leaves. There are also designs of animals, and more. And the most popular designs of Phulkari artwork are the rainbow designs.
