Raghava Lawrence or Lawrence Raghavendra is an eminent choreographer, actor, director, writer and music composer. Known for his intricate hip-hop movements, Raghava started his career as a choreographer and later plunged into acting. He has starred in commercially successful films like ‘Parthale Paravasam’, ‘Muni’ and ‘Pandi’. Raghava has directed popular films like ‘Mass’, ‘Style’, ‘Muni’ and ‘Don’.

Raghava Lawrence ventured into film industry as a choreographer and directed dance sequences for superstars like Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, Sakshi Sivanand, Soundarya, Ravi Teja, Prabhu Deva, Sameera Reddy, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Tabu, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Joseph Vijay, Sonali Bendre, Arti Agarwal, Mahesh Babu, Bhumika Chawla, Shriya Saran, Jyothika Saravanan, Jr. NTR, Sumanth, Genelia D'Souza, Prabhas, Trisha Krishnan, Gopichand, Charmme Kaur, Allu Arjun, Gowri Mumjal, Rimi sen and Bhanupriya.
Raghava Lawrence started acting in the year 2000 when he appeared in Saran’s Tamil film ‘Parthen Rasithen’ alongside Prashanth, Simran, Laila and Raghuvaran. He was later seen in several Tamil films, namely ‘Parthale Paravasam’ alongside R. Madhavan, Simran and Sneha, ‘Arputham’ alongside Kunal and Livingston, ‘Baba’ starring Manisha Koirala, Vijayakumar, M. N. Nambiar Goundamani, Sujatha and Karunas, ‘Thirumalai’ alongside Joseph Vijay, Jyothika, Vivek and Raghuvaran, ‘Muni’ also starring Vedhika Kumar, Rajkiran, Rahul Dev and Nassar, ‘Pandi’ alongside Sneha, Namitha, Nassar, ‘Rajadhi Raja’ alongside Kamna Jethmalani, Kiran Rathod and Mumtaj and the recently released ‘Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam’ alongside Sandhya, Lakshmi Rai, Padmapriya and Nassar.
Raghava Lawrence has also starred in a few Telugu films like ‘Ninney Ishta Paddaanu’, V.V. Vinayak’s ‘Tagore which was the remake of Kannada film ‘Ramana’. The film starred Chiranjeevi, Shriya Saran, Jyothika Saravanan and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. Raghava was later seen alongside Sumanth and Genelia D'Souza in Surya Kiran’s superhit film ‘Satyam’.
Raghava Lawrence ventured into film direction in the year with the Telugu film starring ‘Mass’ starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, Jyothika and Charmme Kaur. The film became a superhit and was released in Tamil as ‘Veeran’ Hindi as ‘Meri Jung - One Man Army’ His next directorial venture was the Telugu film ‘Style’ starring Prabhu Deva, Raghava Lawrence, Charmme Kaur, Raja and Kamalinee Mukherjee. Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna appeared in special fight sequences in ‘Style’. Raghava later directed Tamil films like ‘Muni’ starring himself, Vedhika Kumar, Rajkiran, Rahul Dev and Nassar and ‘Don’ starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, Anushka Shetty, Raghava Lawrence, Kelly Dorjee and Nikita.
He appeared in his own directorial ventures alongside Akkineni Nagarjuna, Jyothika, Charmme Kaur and Raghuvaran in action drama ‘Mass’, Prabhu Deva, Charmme Kaur, Raja and Kamalinee Mukherjee in ‘Style’ and Akkineni Nagarjuna and Anushka Shetty in ‘Don’. The multitalented choreographer turned actor- director has also written the story and screenplay for ‘Style’ and ‘Don’. Moreover he also composed music ‘Don’ and a forthcoming untitled film.
Raghava Lawrence is known for his philanthropic efforts and a humanitarian nature and runs a charitable trust that works for the welfare of physically disabled youth. Raghava spends most of his income on this disability home and is supported by many film personalities in this noble initiative. Raghava Lawrence introduced several talented disabled individuals in a special fifteen minute segment featured in the popular dance show ‘Masthaana Masthaana Part 2’.
