Raised Embroidery

The Splendid Types of Raised Embroidery

Raised embroidery of Stump work is classified to be any particular form of artwork that is raised on the surface of the fabric. This includes putting a simple piece of filler on a fabric done with embroidered background in it. It is initially supplemented by embroidered threads with variety of appropriate colors on its short sides. The pattern usually insists that the embroidered fabric should be sewn with the part of the filler, thus providing stitches along the embroidery path by various corresponding colors to completely cover and then wrap the entire Raised embroidery pattern. This also includes the embroidery background fabric and so with the filler with the removal of the outer part of the filler that surrounds the embroidered part from its own embroidered portion which passes through the whole dimensional background of its fabric. With the finely wrapped filler with the use of an oven conveyor conveniently secured at pre-set temperature, it entails support and proper management in order to shrink properly the filler and neatly tucking in its filler stub avoiding its exposure to inter threads by systematically using a sharp stick. This whole process involved in this procedure successfully creates a more aesthetic side edges to a Raised embroidery pattern.

An interesting subject when it comes to the passion on decorative needlework, Raised embroidery is basically splendid in its form.  Its imaginative style in decorations if overly manifested will cheapen the quality of the artwork rather than enhancing the supreme effect of the entire furnishings. While if the Raised embroidery is sparingly or prudently used it will also give emphasis and beauty to other decorative artworks. There are several famous types of Raised embroidery, wherein these designs when completed and finished are most efficient and effective to use. The first is the Calla Lily Banner, which is the most seen design of flowers on banners or even on easel pieces because of its awesome effects. The background of the banner must be in velvet of plush and the color must be warm and soothing to the eyes. The colors like green or crimson, deep blue are most likely very vibrant to add accent to calla lilies. Eastern decorations will be entertaining with the use of the Raised Calla Lilies.

The second type of Raised embroidery is the Ribbon Embroidery which is popularly known also as the "China Ribbon Embroidery", "Rococo", or "Ribbon Work". This is used in the early 1800's and considered as one of the ancient form of Raised embroidery. The past designs of this pattern was creatively dyed with beautiful, colorful shades in art tones such as dead rose, old blue, sage green, etc. Effective shadings on some of these ribbons are done by shading light colors to one edge and darker colors to the other edge. The third type is the Snowballs Flowers, mostly loved by Victorian ladies; these flowers are a lot life-like in appearance. This is most effective in making ornamental banners, and very attractive in giving elegance to the corners of mirror frames. Raised embroidery is a very splendid form of embroidery since it is the chosen pattern for making wonderful gifts when mounted on boxes, jar lids, paperweights. It is very spectacular in its appearance; indeed Raised embroidery is uniquely awesome in its style and design.
