Rajeev Khandelwal was born on 16th October, 1975 in Jaipur into a family of army personnel. Rajeev attended the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jaipur and later graduated in Chemistry from from St. Xaviers College, Ahmedabad. Rajeev Khandelwal started his career as a documentary filmmaker and directed several short films on the social issues like the plight of aged people, women labour etc. Rajeev plunged into TV by directing a fictional show titled Samarpan based on the life of paramilitary forces professionals. The show was shot in Kashmir and was aired on Doordarshan. Rajeev Khandelwal also directed the title sequence of many TV serials like ‘Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat’, ‘Kahin to Hoga’, ‘Kkvyanjali’ and ‘Kkasamh Se’, among others.

Rajeev Khandelwal ventured into acting by appearing in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat’, a suspense thriller aired on Sony Entertainment Television. Rajeev became a household name after he played the lead role in Balaji Telefilms’ popular romantic- family drama ‘Kahin to Hoga’ opposite well known actress Aamna Shariff.
Rajeev Khandelwal later starred in Ketan Mehta’s ‘Time Bomb 9/11’ wherein he portrayed the character of Field Officer Varun Awasthi. Aired on Zee TV, ‘Time Bomb 9/11’ was based on a fictional story with the terrorist groups in the backdrop trying to assassinate the Indian Prime minister played by acclaimed actor Kay Kay Menon and destroying the city of New Delhi. Rajeev Khandelwal was seen in a similar role in Sony Entertainment’s ‘CID’ and Star One’s ‘Left Right Left’. Rajeen Khandelwal became a TV presenter with Sony Entertainment’s game show ‘Deal Ya No Deal’, the Indian version of ‘Deal or No Deal’ originally produced by Dutch producer Endemol. He recently hosted the controversial ‘Sacch Ka Saamna’ aired on Star Plus. ‘Sacch Ka Saamna’ is the Indian adaptation of popular American game show ‘The Moment of Truth’ that was itself based on the ‘Nada más que la verdad’ , a Colombian format. Rajeev Khandelwal received several awards during his television career including the Sangini Indian Telly Awards Personality of the Year 2004, MTV Style Award for the Most Stylish Person (Male) on TV, Garnier Light Indian Telly Awards for the TV Personality of the Year, MTV Style Awards for the Most Stylish Host on TV, Gold Award for Best Actor in Leading Role (Male) for ‘Left Right Left’ and Indian Telly Awards for Best Host on TV for ‘Sacch Ka Sammna’. Rajeev Khandelwal made his Bollywood debut with the lead role in Rajkumar Gupta’s critically acclaimed film ‘Aamir’. The film became a huge commercial and critical success and Rajeev won accolades for his breakthrough performance. Rajeev is supposedly one of the busiest Bollywood stars and is working on a number of bollywood projects including ‘Peter Gaya Kaam Se’, ‘Chenab Gandhi’, ‘Main Joker’, ‘Just Love’, ‘Will You marry Me?’, ‘Return Gift’ and ‘Tainaat’. Rajeev Khandelwal was earlier linked to co-actor Aamna Shariff, however he recently got engaged to Manjiri Kamtikar in a private ceremony at Kasauli near Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. Manjiri Kamtikar, an advertising professional had been dating Rajeev Khandelwal for around six months before finally getting engaged in May, 2010.
