Randeep Hooda is a popular Indian actor who shot to fame by playing the lead role in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘D: Underworld Badhshah’ and later appeared in films like ‘Risk’ and ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’. Randeep Hooda is an avid blogger and migrated his blog titled ‘In The Script’ to Asian Correspondent. Randeep Hooda was born on 20th August, 1976 in Daseya village, Rohtak in Haryana to a surgeon father Dr. Ranbir Hooda and a social worker mother Asha Hooda. Randeep Hooda attended the MNSS Boarding School Rai in Sonepat and later studied at the Delhi Public School, R K Puram New Delhi. Randeep Hooda earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and did his Masters in Business Management & Human Resource Management from Australia. During his higher studies in Australia, Randeep took up several jobs like peeling onions in a Chinese restaurant, working in a car-wash, waitering the tables and driving taxis. Randeep joined an airline as a marketing executive in India after returning back in the year 2000.

During this time, he developed a passion for acting and appeared in a few stage plays. Randeep plunged into films with a minor role in Mira Nair’s successful film ‘Monsoon Wedding’ starring Naseeruddin Shah, Lilette Dubey, Shefali Shah and Vasundhara Das in lead roles. Randeep Hooda played an NRI in the film and it was due to his Australian accent that he was offered the particular role by Mira Nair.

Randeep Hooda’s first film as the protagonist was the crime thriller ‘D: Underworld Badhshah’ directed by Vishram Sawant. Produced by Ram Gopal Varma and Ronnie Screwvala, ‘D: Underworld Badhshah’ is based on the true-life incidents of the Mumbai underworld also known as the D company. The film was the sequel to Ajay Devgan- Vivek Oberoi starrer ‘Company’ released in the year 2002. Randeep Hooda played the protagonist in ‘D: Underworld Badhshah’ while Chunky Pandey, Rukhsar, Isha Koppikar, Yashpal Sharma and Sushant Singh played supporting roles.

Randeep Hooda next appeared in Ram Gopal Varma’s portmanteau film ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Mallika Sherawat, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Sunil Shetty. Randeep Hooda played the lead in Ketan Mehta’s drama film ‘Rang Rasiya’ based on the life of 19th century Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma. Nandana Sen played his love interest in the film. ‘Rang Rasiya’ was premiered at The Times BFI London Film Festival, 2008.

Randeep Hooda has also starred in films like ‘Karma, Confessions and Holi’ alongside his ex-girlfriend Sushmita Sen and supermodel Naomi Campbell, ‘Risk’ alongside Vinod Khanna, Tanushree Dutta and Yashpal Sharma, ‘Love Khichdi’ alongside Sadha, Rituparna Sengupta, Divya Dutta, Riya Sen, Sonali Kulkarni and Jesse Randhawa, ‘Ru Ba Ru’ alongside Shahana Goswami, Rati Agnihotri and Kulbhushan Kharbanda and ‘Mere Khawabon Mein Jo Aaye’ opposite Raima Sen.

Randeep Hooda and former Miss Universe and popular bollywood diva Sushmita Sen dated for a while and also appeared together in ‘Karma, Confessions and Holi’. However the two broke up sometime in the year 2007 and Randeep is supposedly single.
