Ranvir Shorey, born on August 18, 1972 in Jalandhar, Punjab started his career as a Television presenter and appeared in popular shows like ‘Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun’ alongside his close friend Vinay Pathak and ‘The Great Indian Comedy Show’ which aired on STAR One. Ranvir Shorey was first seen in the bollywood film ‘Ek Choti si Love Story’ directed by Shashilal K Nair. The film starring Manisha Koirala, Ranvir Shorey and Aditya Seal was the copy of sixth part of Krzysztof Kieslowski's ‘Dekalog’. The film stirred huge controversy as it featured very bold scenes that were too racy for the Indian society to accept.

Ranvir Shorey was next seen alongside Bipasha basu, John Abraham and Gulshan Grover in a minor role in superhit thriller ‘Jism’. He continued to play supporting roles in films like Shashanka Ghosh’s ‘Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II’ alongside Arshad Warsi, Prashant Narayanan and Sandhya Mridul, Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Lakshya’ alongside Hrithik Roshan, Priety Zinta, Amitabh Bachchan and Amrish Puri, Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Shiva’ alongside Mohit Alawat and Nisha Kothari and Naseeruddin Shah’s directorial debut alongside Konkona Sen Sharma, Ayesha Takia, Jimmy Shergill, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani, Saroj Khan and Irfan Khan.

Ranvir Shorey won rave reviews for his performance in contemporary romantic comedy ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ directed by Saket Chaudhary. The film starred Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat as the lead pair while Ranvir Shorey, Jas Arora, Sophie Choudry and Taraana Raja played other pivotal roles. The success stride was continued with the critically acclaimed and box office mega hit ‘Khosla ka Ghosla’ also starring Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parvin Dabas, Vinay Pathak and Tara Sharma. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, ‘Khosla ka Ghosla’ won the coveted National Award for the best Feature Film in Hindi. Ranbir was next seen in different kind of characters in films such as Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Traffic Signal’ opposite Konkona Sen Sharma, Reema Kagti’s ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’ Alongside an ensemble cast including Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani, Ameesha Patel, Karan Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Raima Sen, Abhay Deol, Minissha Lamba, Sandhya Mridul and Dia Mirza and Anurag Kashyap’s ‘No Smoking’ alongside John Abraham, Ayesha Takia and Paresh Rawal. Ranvir also starred in Madhuri Dixit’s comeback film ‘Aaja Nach Le’, Sachin Khot’s ‘Ugly Aur Pagli’ opposite Mallika Sherawat and Akshay Kumar- Katrina Kaif starrer mega hit comedy ‘Singh is Kinng’. Ranvir Shorey was earned immense acclaim for his exemplary performance in offbeat films like ‘Mixed Doubles’ alongside Konkona Sen Sharma, Rajat Kapoor and Koel Purie, ‘Mithya’ opposite neha Dhupia, ‘Dasvidanya’ and ‘Bheja Fry’ alongside Vinay Pathak. Ranvir will soon be seen in Revathy S Varma’s ‘Aap Ke Liye Hum’ alongside Jaya Bachchan, Manisha Koirala, Raveena Tandon and Ayesha Takia Azmi. Ranvir Shorey was earlier dating actor turned producer- director Pooja Bhatt who is now married to Manish Makhija. Ranvir Shorey is currently dating the national Award winning actress Konkona Sen Sharma and the couple is planning to tie the wedlock pretty soon. Konkona Sen Sharma is best remembered for her films like ‘Mr. And Mrs. Iyer’, ’15 Park Avenue’, ‘Page 3’ and Life in a Metro‘.
