Ritesh Deshmukh is a well known Bollywood actor and a qualified architect. He is the son od Vilasrao Deshmukh, the current Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India. Vilasrao Deshmukh has twice served as the Chief Minister of Maharasthra.
Ritesh Deshmukh has shared the screen with the established actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Paresh Rawal, Abhishek Bachchan, Boobby Deol and stunning divas like Lara Dutta, Genelia D’Souza, Neha Dhupia, Ayesha Takia, Esha Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, among others.
Ritesh Deshmukh made his Bollywood debut opposite Genelia D’ Souza in Ramoji Rao’s ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ which was the remake of Telugu superhit ‘Nuvve Kavali’ starring Tarun and Richa Palod. ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ did reasonably well at the box office while Ritesh received a warm welcome in Bollywood. Ritesh next appeared alongside Hrishitaa Bhatt and Brande Roderick, a popular American actress/Model in romantic comedy ‘Out of Control’. Ritesh was nominated for the Zee Cine Award for bEst Male Debut for ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ and ‘Out of Control’ and Star Screen Most Promising Newcomer for ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’.
Ritesh Deshmukh’s first mega success was Indra Kumar’s 2004 release ‘Masti’ alongside Ajay Devgan, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Genelia, Tara Sharma and Amrita Rao. ‘Masti’ became a blockbuster hit and Ritesh won his first award in the Best Actor in a Comic Role at the Star Screen Awards and Zee Cine Awards, he was also nominated at IIFA for the same. Ritesh and Genelia appeared as a couple for the second time and it was rumoured that the two were romantically involved. However it is assumed that they broke up owing to Ritesh’s father Vilasrao Deshmukh’s resentment over their relationship. Ritesh and Genelia have often been spotted together but they have always stated that the two are just very good friends and are not dating each other.

Ritesh Deshmukh illustrated his brilliant sense of humor in successful films like ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ alongside Tusshar Kapoor, Neha Dhupia and Isha Koppikar, ‘Bluffmaster’ alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra and Priyadarshan’s ‘Malamaal Weekly’. Ritesh Deshmukh received the Best Supporting Actor Award for ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ and Zee Cine Best Comedian Award for ‘Bluffmaster’.
Ritesh later appeared in a few multistarrer films like ‘Home Delivery: Aapko... Ghar Tak’, ‘fight Club: Members Only’, ‘Cash’, ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’, ‘Dhamaal’, ‘De Taali’, ‘Do Knot Disturb’ and ‘Chamku’. Ritesh gave a brillian performance in SAjid Khan’s superhit comedy film ‘Heyy Babyy’. Inspired from the Hollywood film ‘Three Men & a Baby’, ‘Heyy Babyy’ also starred Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Boman Irani and Vidya Balan.
Ritesh Deshmukh got an opportunity to work with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Aladdin’, a contemporary version of the classic Aladdin fairy tales. The film fared well at the box office and Ritesh will soon be seen in its sequel titled ‘Aladin 2’. Ritesh’s latest release ‘Housefull’ also did extremely well at the box office. Directed by Sajid Khan, ‘Housefull’ starred Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Jiah Khan and Boman Irani.
Today Ritesh is one of the busiest Bollywood stars and is working on several projects including Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’ and ‘Koochie Koochie Hota Hai’, Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Aladin 2’, Indra Kumar’s ‘Dhamaal 2’ and Anees Bazmee’s ‘The Hangover’.
