In addition to Lakme Indian Fashion Week and Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has showcased his collections at several fashion fiestas including the fashion weeks at London, Milan and New York. Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s collection blends together a vintage element with contemporary feel. He is extremely concerned about the fabric and at times uses burned and bleached fabrics to give them the right tone and texture. His favorite fabrics include cotton voils, georgettes, chiffons and organza. Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s style mantra is fusion and his design philosophy is straight and simple – ‘Intuition makes a garment work not rules ’.

He has impeccably experimented with kantha-stich, a traditional Bengali embroidery form. Sabyasachi Mukherjee loves to travel and often his designs are based on the hippie and nomad culture. He retails his label, Sabyasachi all over India, through popular fashion outlets like Oogan, Oorja, Melange, Carma, and Espee.

Apart from womenswear, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has ventured into jewelry, interiors and is soon going to do kidswear and menswear. He is presently working on the expansion of his label which is still in phase one of expansion. He has planned phase two to concentrate on the masses while phase three will involve a complete range of lifestyle products. However Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s chief priority will always be fashion as it is his core business.
