Saif Ali Khan married actress Amrita Singh in 1991 and has two children, a son named Ibrahim Ali Khan and a daughter, Sara Ali Khan. Saif divorced Amrita in 2004 and is currently seeing the well known Indian actress Kareena Kapoor.

Saif Ali Khan studied at the Lawrence School Sanawar, lockers Park Prep School and Winchester College, UK. Saif Ali Khan made his bollywood debut with 1992 release’Parampara’ but received the Filmfare award for the Best Male Debut for ‘Aashiq Awara’. Saif Ali Khan was appreciated by the audiences and critics for his performance in romantic film ‘Yeh Dillagi’ also starring Akshay Kumar and Kajol. Despite working in a number of films, Saif Ali Khan could not join the league of leading bollywood heroes.

After the huge success of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, Saif Ali Khan worked with the top names in bollywood including Yash Chopra, Karan Johar and Ran Gopal Verma. Nikhil Advani’s multistarrer ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ earned him all the major Indian awards for the best supporting actor including the prestigious Filmfare awards. Set in new York, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ was the 2nd highest grossing film of 2003.

The success of ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ was followed by romantic comedy ‘Hum Tum’ opposite Rani Mukherjee and ‘Salaam Namaste’ opposite Priety Zinta. Saif Ali Khan was also appreciated for a negative role in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ and Vishal Bhardaj’s ‘Omkara’. In fact ‘Omkara’ earned him applaud from the critics and the Best Actor in a negative role at all the major Indian film award ceremonies.

Besides ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ and’Omkara’, Saif was also appreciated for his role as Shekhar Rai in Pardeep Sarkar’s ‘Parineeta’. Saif‘s few projects namely, ‘Eklavya’, ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’, ‘Tashan’ and ‘Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic’ did not fare well at the box office while Abbas Mustan’s thriller movie ‘Race’ was an average.

In 2009, Saif Ali Khan Ventured into film production with thid production company ‘Illuminati Films’. ‘Love Aaj Kal’ directed by Imtiaz Ali was the first film under the his banner. ‘Love Aaj Kal’ was a huge commercial success of 2009 and was nominated in a number of categories. Saif’s forth coming film ‘Agent Vinod’ is his home production and is directed by Sriram Raghavan.
