Shahana Goswami is a bollywood actress who appeared in the award winning film ‘Rock On!!’. Born on 6th May, 1986 in New Delhi, Shahana Goswami attended Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Delhi and later joined Sophia College in Mumbai. A brilliant student, Shahana represented her school in various activities like athletics, badminton, basketball and volleyball at the zonal level, she was the first runner up at the National Artificial Wall Climbing Competition.

Besides being a sports enthusiast, Shahana is a well trained Odissi dancer and has performed at several events across the globe with her dance troupe. Shahana’s father is an economist while her mother works as an editorial consultant. Her elder brother is pursuing doctorate from the University of Cambridge.
Shahana always aspired to take up acting as her profession and therefore moved to Mumbai where she completed her graduation. She first started as the production assistant at Jaimini Pathak's theatre group called Working Title. She later acted in few of their plays like ‘Seagull’ and ‘Arabian Nights’. Through her theatre group, Shahana happened to meet talent consultant Shanoo Sharma who arranged for an audition for a supporting role in Naseeruddin Shah's directorial debut ‘Yun Hota to Kya Hota’. After appearing in ‘Yun Hota To Kya Hota’, she played Boman Irani’s daughter in Reema Katgi's ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd’.
She next appeared in films like ‘Ru Ba Ru’ opposite Randeep Hooda, Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Tera Kya Hoga Johny’ alongside Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kay Kay Menon, Soha Ali Khan and Karan Nath and Mahesh Productions’ ‘2009 release ‘Jashn’. However she earned huge popularity for her pioneering performance in the musical blockbuster ‘Rock On!!’. She portrayed the character of Debbie, wife of Joseph (Joe) Mascarenhas played by Arjun Rampal.
Shahana was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for ‘Rock On!!’ at Idea IIFA Award and Filmfare Awards in 2009. She also received a Breakthrough Performance nomination at the Max Stardust Award. Shahana won the Filmfare Critics Award 2009 for Best Actress and the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Star Screen, Lions Gold Awards and Cineblitz Awards for ‘Rock On!!’.
Shahana Goswami also featured in Nandita Das’s directorial debut ‘Firaaq’ released in 2009 alongside actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Deepti Naval, Paresh Rawal, Raghuvir Yadav, Sanjay Suri and Tisca Chopra. Firaaq’ received several awards at the international film festivals including Best Film and Best Screenplay at Asian Festival of First Films, Purple Orchid Award for Best Film at Asian Festival of First Films, Special Jury Award at International Film Festival of Kerala, Special Prize at International Thessaloniki Film Festival. ‘Firaaq’ also won Filmfare Best Movie Critics Award and The Maverick Spirit Award at 19th Cinequest Film Festival San Jose, USA. She won the Max Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance and the Lions Gold Award for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Firaaq’. She received Filmfare and Star Screen nominations in the best supporting actress category for ‘Firaaq’.
Shahana Goswami has appeared in Dido’s music video ‘Let's Do the Things We Normally Do’ where she plays a taxi driver. Shahana Goswami is currently working on a few projects including Navdeep Singh’s ‘Basra’ alongside Abhay Deol, Nikhil Dwivedi, Soniya Mehra and Chitrangada Singh, Vinay Shukla’s ‘Mirch’ alongside Konkona Sen Sharma and Raima Sen, Danish Aslam’s ‘Break ke Baad’alongside Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone, Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Ra.1’ alongside Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal and Abhinay Deo’s ‘Game’ alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Kangna Ranaut.
