Shenaz Treasurywala is a famed Indian model, actress, VJ and a Travel writer. Born on 29th June, 1981 in Mumbai, Shenaz Treasurywala belongs to a middle class Gujarati speaking Parsi family. Her Father was a merchant marine engineer. Shenaz attended the St Xavier’s College in Mumbai and later moved to New York to study method acting at Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute while she also took up a writing course at the New York University.

An avid traveler, Shenaz loves photography, playing piano and guitar, jet skiing, scuba diving, writing, swimming and hiking. Shenaz Treasurywala began her journey in the tinsel town when she was first spotted by a photographer during her college days. Shenaz soon appeared in TV commercials for Gold Spot, Philips, Akai, Trigger Jeans and Elle 18. She was then chosen by MTV Networks Asia to host popular shows like ‘MTV Most Wanted’ and ‘MTV Whatever Things’. Shenaz has also hosted the ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ aired on Star One.
While studying at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, she came to india to visit her family during the Christmas break, however she lost all her luggage including Travel documents. So she had to stay in India for quite long due to all the formal documentation procedure. During this time, she happened to meet well known filmmaker Ken Ghosh at a club and was offered the role of Alisha in ‘Ishq Vishk’.
A TIPS production ‘Ishq Vishk’ was a love triangle starring Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao. The film became a huge commercial success and Shenaz received a Filmfare nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. Shenaz was appreciated for her riveting performance in the glamorous role of Alisha. Shenaz Treasurywala was next seen in a special appearance in Saif Ali Khan- Rani Mukherjee starrer ‘Hum Tum’. Inspired by the Hollywood super hit ‘When Harry met Sally’, ‘Hum Tum’ was directed by Kunal Kohli and became a huge success, both commercially as well as critically.

Shenaz also appeared in Karan Razdan’s ‘Umar’ that revolves around three aging protagonists played by Kader Khan, Prem Chopra and Satish Kaushik. The film earned positive reviews from the critics. She recently played the lead roles in films like ‘Aagey Se Right’ and ‘Radio’. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Indrajit Nattoji, ‘Aagey Se Right’ stars Shreyas Talpade, Mahi Gill, Kay Kay Menon, Shiv Pandit and Shruti Seth. Shenaz incredibly portrayed the character of a bargirl named Pearl who is Kay Kay Menon’s love interest in the film.
Shenaz played the female lead opposite Himesh Reshammiya in 2009 release ‘Radio’ directed by Ishan Trivedi. The film also featured Sonal Shah, Paresh Rawal, Rajesh Khattar and Zakir Hussain. ‘Radio’ is one of the rare Indian films that are divided into chapters; ‘Radio’ includes fifteen chapters. The film was released along with Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Paa’ and could not do well at the box office. However the soundtrack ruled the charts for weeks, the highlight being Himesh’s singing in nasal as well as non nasal voice.
Shenaz Treasurywala is prently working on a couple of projects like ‘Delhi Belly’ and a travel show on Discovery’s Travel & Living. Produced by Aamir Khan and UTV Motion Pictures, ‘Delhi Belly’ revolves around different characters in Delhi played by Imraan Khan, Shenaz Treasurywala, Vir Das, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Monica Dogre . The film is directed by ace ad filmmaker Abhinay Deo who is also directing Abhishek Bachchan and Kangna Ranaut starrer ‘Game’.
