Shreyas Talpade born on 27 January 1976 in Mumbai attended Shree Ram Welfare Society's High School. Shreyas is married to Deepti Talpade whom he met at her college event where he appeared as a celebrity guest.
Shreyas Talpade is an experienced theater artist who has worked in many Marathi stage plays and television shows. Shreyas Talpade earned immense respect and recognition among the Marathi audiences after appearing in the character of Tejas in television serial titled ‘Damini’. His first bollywood role was a cameo in Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s ‘Aankhen’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen.
Shreyas Talpade was next seen in Mahesh Kothare’s Marathi paranormal thriller ‘Pachadlela’. Shreya Talpade’s first film as a protagonist was Nagesh Kukunoor’s acclaimed film ‘Iqbal’. Shreyas portrayed the role of lead character Iqbal, a deaf and mute boy to aspires to become a cricketer. Shreyas was appreciated for successfully depicting this challenging role and received a Filmfare nomination for the Best Male Debut Actor. Shreyas Talpade later starred in diverse avatars in films like Sangeeth Sivan’s ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ as a garage mechanic, Anant Mahadevan’s ‘Aggar’ in a villainous role, ‘Dil Dosti Etc’ as an ambitious Bihari student-politician and as a petty thief in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Bombay to Bangkok’. Shreyas Talpade won accolades for his performance in nagesh Kukunoor’s critically acclaimed film ‘Dor’ starring Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag in lead roles. ‘Dor’ was the remake of ‘Perumazhakkalam’, an award winning Malayalam film. ‘Dor’ was screened at annual Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival and later at the Atlanta Indo-American Film Festival and also received several awards and nominations. Shreyas received his first ever Star Screen Award for the Best Comedian for ‘Dor’. Shreyas Talpade’s biggest commercial success till date is Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’. Shreyas appeared as the confidant of the protagonist played by the badshah of bollywood, Shahrukh Khan. ‘Om Shanti Om’ starred Deepika Padukone as the female lead while Arjun Rampal was seen in a villainous role. ‘Om Shanti Om’ became a hit among the masses as well as classes and Shreyas won the Stardust Breakthrough Performance Award. Shreyas Talpade earned an opportunity to work with veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal in the mega hit comedy film ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ also starring Amrita Rao, Divya Dutta, Kunal Kapoor, Yashpal Sharma and Ila Arun. Shreyas was subsequently seen in multistarrer films like ‘Paying Guests’ alongside Javed Jaffrey, Aashish Chaudhary and Vatsal Seth and ‘Aagey Se Right’ alongside Shiv Pandit, Mahi Gill, and Kay Kay Menon.
Shreyas Talpade replaced Sharman Joshi in Rohit Shetty’s sequel to ‘Golmaal’. Shreyas played pivotal role alongside Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi in ‘Golmaal Returns’ and is currently working on forthcoming ‘Golmaal 3’. He will also be seen in horror film ‘Help’ and David Dhawan’s ‘Hook Ya Crook’.
