Hailing from the Royal family of Pataudi, Soha Ali Khan is a well known actress of Indian film industry. Born on 4th October, 1978, Soha Ali Khan Pataudi is a versatile performer and has acted in Hindi and Bengali films. Soha’s father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Grandfather Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi have served as the captains of Indian cricket team. Soha Ali Khan studied at The British School in New Delhi and later at Balliol College, Oxford. She started her career with Ford Foundation and Citibank. Soha was first seen in Anjan Das’s Bengali film ‘Iti Srikanta’ released in 2004, the movie received the coveted National Film Award for best audiography. She made her bollywood debut in ‘Dil Maange More’ alongside Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and Tulip Joshi. Though the film could not do well at the box office, Soha’s performance was appreciated.

Despite the release of exemplary films like ‘Krrish’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Omkara’ and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, ‘Rang DE Basanti’ became India’s official entry to 79th Academy Awards. ‘Rang De Basanti’ received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Moreover the film also garnered the best movie award at all major Indian film award including Filmfare, IIFA, Star Screen, GIFA and Zee Cine Awards. ‘Rang De Basanti’ was also nominated in the best foreign language film category at BAFTA.
Soha Ali Khan earned the Best Supporting Actress Award for ‘Rang De Basanti’ at the GIFA and IIFA awards ceremonies. She was also nominated at the Filmfare Awards for the best actress in a supporting role.
Soha Ali Khan next starred in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ based on the Hindi film industry during 50s. The film was appreciated by the critics and Soha proved her mettle as an actress of substance. Soha Ali Khan gave phenomenal performances in critically acclaimed films like Shivam Nair’s ‘Ahista Ahista’ opposite Abhay Deol and Shayan Munshi, Nishikant Kamat’s ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ based on the post events of 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings and a contemporary drama ‘Dil Kabaddi’ opposite Irrfan Khan.
Soha Ali Khan recently starred in Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Tum Mile’ directed by Kunal Deshmukh. Based on the backdrop of the iniquitous July 2005 Mumbai floods, ‘Tum Mile’ received rave reviews from critics as well as audiences. Soha Ali Khan joined television as the host of a game show called ‘Godrej Khelo Jeeto Jiyo’ that was aired on Star Plus.
Besides being a performer, Soha possesses keen business acumen and is thus serving on the Advisory Board for a public entrepreneurial endeavor, Res Publica. Soha has also modeled for the spring-summer collection of a popular Indian chain of boutiques, Globus.
