Sushant Singh is an acclaimed Indian actor who made his debut in National Award winning film ‘Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar’ directed by Jabbar Patel. Sushant shot to fame with his villainous performance in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Jungle’ followed by supporting roles in ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’, ‘Lakshya’, ‘D’, ‘Shikhar’ and the most recent ‘Paathshala’.

A Jat by birth, Sushant Singh attended the Birla Vidya Mandir, a resident school in the hill town of Nainital. He later graduated in English Literature from Kirori Mal College where he developed an interest in theatre and eventually appeared in several Hindi and Marathi stage productions.
Sushant Singh was first seen in a supporting role in Jabbar Patel’s critically acclaimed film ‘Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar’ alongside Mammootty, Sonali Kulkarni and Mohan Gokhale. Set in early nineties (1901- 1956), ‘Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar’ portrayed the social tumult in India and is considered one of the most excellent historical films made in India. The film received three National Awards and became India’s official entry to the London Film Festival.
Sushant Singh was seen in minor roles in films like Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Satya’ alongside s J. D. Chakravarthy, Manoj Bajpai, Urmila Matondkar and Shefali Shah, Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Kaun’ alongside Manoj Bajpai and Urmila Matondkar and Mansoor Khan’s ‘Josh’ alongside Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Chandrachur Singh and Sharad Kapoor before playing the negative lead in ‘Jungle’. He won the IIFA Popular Award Performance in a Negative Role for ‘Jungle’ and also received a Star Screen nomination for the same. Sushant Singh later starred in pivotal roles in films like Mani Shankar’s action thriller ‘16 December’, E. Nivaz’s social-action drama ‘Dum’, Ram Gopal Varma’s anthology horror film ‘Darna Mana Hai’, Robby Grewal’s psychothriller film ‘Samay: When Time Strikes’, Farhan Akhtar’s multistarrer army based film ‘Lakshya’ and Kabeer Kaushik’s action crime drama ‘Sehar’. Sushant Singh potrayed the character of Sukhdev in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’, a biographical film about the legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. The film also starred Ajay Devgan, Amrita Rao, Raj Babbar, D. Santosh , Akhilendra Mishra and Amitabh Bhattacharjee. The film won several awards including National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, National Award for Best Actor and three Filmfare Awards, including the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie.Sushant Singh also received a Star Screen nomination for Best Supporting Actor for ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’. Sushant Singh won rave reviews for his performance in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘D: Underworld Badhshah’ alongside Randeep Hooda, Chunky Pandey, Rukhsar, Isha Koppikar and Yashpal Sharma, ‘Shikhar’ alongside Ajay Devgan, Shahid Kapur, Bipasha Basu and Amrita Rao, Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Family - Ties of Blood’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Bhoomika Chawla and Aryeman Ramsay, ‘Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag’ alongside Mohanlal, Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Sushmita Sen, Mani Shankar’s ‘Mukhbiir’ alongside Sameer Dattani, Om Puri, Sunil Shetty, Rahul Dev, Jackie Shroff and Raima Sen and Ashu Trikha’s ‘Baabarr’ alongside Sohum Shah, Mithun Chakraborty, Urvashi Sharma, Mukesh Tiwari, Govind Namdeo and Om Puri. Sushant Singh was recently seen in Milind Ukey’s ‘Paathshala’ also starring Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Ali Haji and Nana Patekar. Produced by well known choreographer Ahmad Khan, ‘Paathshala’ revolves around the Indian Education System and its downside.
