Twinkle Khanna is a well known Indian actress and Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s wife. Twinkle Khanna, the daughter of two veteran actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia shares her birthday with her dad. She was born as Tina Jatin Khan on 29th December, 1974 in Pune. Twinkle’s parents decided to separate in 1983 and both Twinkle and her sister Rinke stayed with mother Dimple Kapadia.

Twinkle’s aunt Simple Kapadia was a costume designer and her younger sister Rinke Khanna, also an actress is married to businessman Sameer Saran. Twinkle Khanna is married to Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar for over 9 years and the couple is blessed with a son named Aarav. Twinkle and hubby Akshay came into a controversy when Twinkle unbuttoned Akshay’s jeans during the Lakme Fashion week event in April 2009.
 Twinkle Khanna began her acting career in the year 1995 when she played the female lead opposite Dharmendra’s son Bobby Deol, a debutant as well. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, ‘Barsaat’ became a box office success and Twinkle won the Filmfare Best Debut Award- Female. Since then she was paired with the top bollywood actors in commercially successful films like Deepak Sareen’s ‘Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai’ opposite Salman Khan, Syam Goel’s ‘Baadshah’ opposite Shahrukh Khan, Dharmesh Darshan’s ‘Mela’ opposite Aamir Khan, ‘Jaan’ and ‘Itihaas’opposite Ajay Devgan and ‘Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan’ opposite Saif Ali Khan. Twinkle Khanna also starred in Shashi’s Telugu film ‘Seenu’ opposite Daggubati Venkatesh.
Twinkle also paired opposite husband Akshay Kumar in a couple of films, namely ‘Zulmi’ and ‘International Khiladi’. She attempted comedy alongside Govinda in ‘Joru ka Ghulam’ and Jodi No. 1. Twinkle was appreciated for her mature acting in ‘Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega’ alongside Fardeen Khan, Aftab Shivdasani and Sonali Bendre.
After tying the wedlock to Akshay Kumar in the year 2001, Twinkle Khanna bid goodbye to the film industry. After quitting films, creative Twinkle turned to interior designing and today co- owns an interior décor store ‘The White Window’ her long time friend Gurlein Manchanda. Her store is situated in the Crawford Market in Mumbai and plans to expand throughout the country. She was honored with the prestigious Elle Decor International Design Award for her riveting and exemplary designs. She has designed for many celebrities including actress Rani Mukherjee. Twinkle Khanna showed her entrepreneurial side by launching a range of home décor and resort wear, titled ‘Villa Tara’. The exclusive resort wear line includes butterfly dresses, bright cotton cover-ups, silk kaftans, beach-bags, embellished slippers and coral and pearl jewelry.
It is expected that Twinkle Khanna will soon be seen in a TV commercial after taking a nine year long sabbatical. Twinkle may face the camera alongside husband Akshay Kumar for the new advertisement of Micromax mobiles. The ad film will be directed by well known director Anurag Basu.
Before getting married to Twinkle Khanna, Akshay was rumored to be romantically involved with bollywood beauties like Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty, Pooja Batra, Sushmita Sen. But Akshay confesses that he truly believes Twinkle to be his lucky charm and the couple often makes public appearances at social events and parties.
