A model turned actress, Urvashi Sharma has appeared in a few Hindi films and a Telugu film. Urvashi was born on 13th October, 1984 in New Delhi into a middle-class Punjabi family. Her father is a Government officer and her mother is a homemaker. Urvashi is the sister of popular model Sucheta Sharma who has represented India at several International fashion events. Urvashi is supposedly dating Bipin Deore, an ad filmmaker.

Urvashi started her career as a model and was seen in a number of print and Tv commercials for popular brands like Ponds,Garnier, Monte Carlo, Kitkat, TBZ and Globus. She also featured in a couple of music videos including Mika’s ‘Something Something’ and Atif Aslam’s ‘Doorie’. Urvashi Sharma was honored by the International Film and Television Club of AAFT with the life membership of by Sandeep Marwah.

Urvashi is known for her oriental and exotic looks and she clearly states that she is not at all a salwar-kameez or a saree girl. The 21st century strong headed beauty likes living on the edge and has appeared on a celebrity reality show called ‘Khataron Ke Khiladi’ aired on Colors channel. Urvashi made her bollywood debut in 2007 release ‘Naqaab’. A TIPS production, ‘Naqaab’ was directed by Abbas and Mustan and starred Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna and Urvashi Sharma. The performances of the lead actors of the film earned positive reviews, however the film could not do well at the box office.
Soon Urvashi signed a seven film deal with TIPS and later got into contractual problems. Urvashi was seen in a Telugu film titled ‘Three’, a paranormal thriller directed by Aravind. Urvashi has always worked in Ashu Trikha’s ‘Baabarr’ opposite debutant Soham Deepak. Based on the backdrop of changing face and reasons of crime, the film also features Mithun Chakraborty, Om Puri, Manoj Tiwari and Govind Namdeo. Urvashi plays the female lead opposite the male protagonist Soham Deepak who plays the role of a dangerous criminal in Uttar Pradesh. Shot in Lucknow and Kanpur, the film exudes rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh. The film had to face a lot of legal agitations on the charges of negative portrayal of Muslims and creation of characters based on the life of political leaders like Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati. However the film won critical accolades and the cast was honored with the life membership of International Film and Television Club at the AAFT.

Urvashi plunged into television by participating in the celebrity reality show ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ hosted by Akshay Kumar. Urvashi performed dangerous stunts in the show and was declared the runner up while former model Nethra Raghuraman became the winner. Other Indian divas that participated alongside Urvashi Sharma include Anjana Sukhani, Aditi Govitrikar, Pooja Bedi, Sonali Kulkarni, Yana Gupta, Meghna Naidu, Anita Hassnandani, Deepanita Sharma, Vidya Malvade and Tapur Chatterjee.
Urvashi is presently working on a few exciting projects like ‘Chai Garam’ alongside Govinda, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitley, ‘Chassni’ alongside veteran actor Jaya Bachchan, Raveena Tandon and Ayesha Takia. The film is supposedly based on the difficult situations faced by older people in India. She will also be seen in Priyadarshan’s next comedy film ‘Khatta Meeta’ alongside Akshay Kumar, Tamil actress Trisha Krishnan and Paresh Rawal.
