Valentino the Great Italian Fashion Designer

Valentino was a renowned Italian fashion designer who was born on May 11, 1932 in Voghera Lombardy, Italy. He was the creator of the so called Valentino brands. Actually, when he was still at his younger age he became a lover of fashion because he was once became an apprentice of his aunt and the designer named Ernestina Salvadeo. Because of his interest in the field of fashion, he decided to go to Paris to study about fashion at the two famous schools in Paris so that he can develop his skills in fashion. He was supported very well and finished his studies with the help of his loving parents Mauro Garavani and Teresa de Biaggi.

When he was about to finished his studies in the fashion field, he became an apprentice of the famous designers named Balenciaga and Jacques Fath. He also became an assistant stylist of the great designer Jean Desses and worked for about two years for Guy Laroche. On an exhibition event held in Rome, Italy in 1991 his great styles fascinates the clients like Marie-Helen and Elizabeth Taylor and that time his impressive designs were already visible on the animal printed styles clothes and white pleats styles clothes. Valentino has left his co-designer Jean Desses because of the vacation issues in Tropez that made his job fall down. But luckily, his old friend and designer Guy Laroche helped him out in this matter and he made a decision to go back to his hometown in Italy. It was on posh Via Condoti in 1959 when Valentino created his first fashion house. This event made him popular because this was his very first show and the models form Paris just flew to Italy to witness the said event. This big night made him to be called as Valentino RED because he was famous for the red colored dresses collections.

In 1962, in one of the places called an Italian Fashion Capital which was the Florence, the international debut of Valentino’s work was celebrated. In was in Pitti Palace where his first show was held and became very memorable because his fashion styles are accepted and welcomed by the people in Florence. In fact, it was during this event where he receives good comments from media and receives bulk orders from different buyers in foreign countries. It was also in Florence, where he made his first step to dress up the women to show up his designs in the international stage. In the year 1966 Valentino started to admire and collected the white colored clothes with a popular “V” logo design. Valentino also opens a fashion house in United States by virtue of Gloria Schiff. It was this lady who worn the black organza dress that was designed by him that impresses Jacqueline Kennedy the wife of the former US president John F. Kennedy.

Valentino was then called as the undisputed Italian Fashion Couture and received an award. In 1967 he has received his award called “Neiman Marcus” which was said to be an award with an equal value to an Oscar fashion award. He was also awarded by France’s president Chirac in July 2006 as “Valentino the Chevalier de la legion d’honneur”. On the other hand, after his last Haute-Couture show at Musée Rodin in Paris the great carrier of Valentino in the field of fashion ended when he decided to retire in 2008.
