Vishal Malhotra wanted to become a pilot and was studying to pursue his passion for flying. Since he hailed from a non- filmy background, Vishal never aspired to become an actor, however during his college days; he was offered to host Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘Disney Club’. He took the job to earn extra pocket money during his summer break and eventually realized that he felt pretty comfortable in front of the camera.

Vishal Malhotra shot to fame by appearing Zee TV’s popular teen show ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ alongside young actors likeNilanjana Sharma Bhowmick, Suchitra Pillai, Purab Kohli, Peeya Rai Chowdhary, Rushad Rana, Nauheed Cyrusi, Shahrukh Bharocha, Shweta Salve, Shabbir Ahluwali, Vinay Pathak and Kuljeet Randhawa. Vishal has also starred in a couple of other TV shows like ‘Vicky & Vetaal’ and ‘Rishtey’. He hosted the first two seasons of Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘Entertainment ke Liye Kuch Bhi karega’ alongside Mona Singh. He was replaced by Romit Raj in Star Plus’s reality show ‘Lux Perfect Pride’. It was rumored that Vishal had some diction trouble and could not pronounce some words and was thus replaced. Later the producers of the show clarified that since Vishal was busy with another assignment, they mutually decided that Romit be the new host. Moreover Vishal Malhotra hosted the finale of ‘Lux Perfect Pride’, thus putting a pause to all the rumors.

Vishal Malhotra made his Bollywood debut by playing the character of Mambo in Ken Ghosh’s ‘Ishq Vishk’ alongside Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala. Since then, vishal has appeared in supporting roles in several bollywood films including Soham Shah’s ‘Kaal’ alongside Ajay Devgan, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi, Lara Dutta and Esha Deol, Nikhil Advani’s ‘Salaam-E-Ishq: A Tribute To Love’ alongside Akshaye Khanna and Ayesha Takia, Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Naqaab’ alongside Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna and Urvashi Sharma, Kunal Deshmukh’s ‘Jannat’ alongside Emraan Hashmi, Sonal Chauhan, Sameer Kochhar and Javed Shaikh and Aziz Mirza’s ‘Kismat Konnection’ alongside Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan.

Vishal Malhotra made special appearances in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Dor’ starring Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag and Shreyas Talpade and Kedar Shinde’s ‘Toh Baat Pakki’ starring Tabu, Sharman Joshi, Vatsal Seth, Ayub Khan and Yuvika Chaudhary. He won rave reviews for his performance in Kaushik Ghatak’s romantic- family drama ‘Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi’ produced by the Barjatyas. The film also starred Isha Koppikar, Sonu Sood, Alok Nath and Reema Lagoo in lead roles. Vishal Malhotra was recently seen in Milap Zaveri’s romantic comedy film ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’ alongside Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ruslaan Mumtaz. Vishal Malhotra is currently shooting for Ravi Chopra’s ‘Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai’ also starring Salman Khan, Lara Dutta, Govinda, Tabu,and Boman Irani.

Vishal Malhotra is known for his down to earth attitude and an amicable nature and is friends with many bollywood celebrities like Shahid Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Amrita Rao, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ken Ghosh, Riteish Deshmukh, Milap Zaveri, Kunal Deshmukh and Mohit Suri.
