Indian Bridal Wears

Come to Kaneesha for a wide selection of Indian bridal wears. Our line of traditional saris may be just what you are looking for, with rich patterns and delicate designs to enhance any bride's unique look. For the more modern approach, you may want to check out some of our current lines of saris and lehnga choli suits. Bold colors and new perspectives on ancient tradition is what you can find at Kaneesha.

When choosing your Indian bridal wears, there are some key decisions to consider before you make any purchase. Beforehand, decide what fabric you would like, as this will narrow your search down. Consider the climate and time of year your wedding will take place in. For example, for a summer wedding, you should choose a light, breathable fabric, such as silk. Then, think of the texture and other design elements you want, such as glasswork, zari work, dye work or other forms of embroidery.

Next you will want to decide on length. The most common cut for a sari is six yards, but there are exceptions to this, and you can find saris measuring four yards or nine yards. Typically at an Indian wedding, the bride will use the pallav, or throw, to cover her head during the ceremony. You want to be sure your sari is cut long enough to allow for this style of pallav, as it is an important tradition in most Indian wedding ceremonies.

Another important decision to make is color. For many brides, the richness of a red, silk sari is the ideal color and fabric for their wedding dress, combined with gold embroidered threads for a luxurious finish. An alternative to solid colors is to look for floral prints to make a creative statement at your wedding. To browse all that Kaneesha has to offer a bride on her wedding day, click here.
