Sandhya Mridul is an award winning Bollywood actress and TV personality. She started her acting career at an age of twenty when she appeared in Mahesh Bhatt’s soap opera ‘Swaabhimaan’ alongside veteran actors like Kitu Gidwani, Abhimanyu Raj Singh, Anju Mahendru, Ashutosh Rana and Manoj Bajapai.

Sandhya Mridul was born on March 28, 1975 in Mumbai. Sandhya’s family moved to Delhi and she joined the Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ Public School in Jaipur. Sandhya later graduated in Mathematics, did her Masters in marketing and earned an executive job with KLM, Mumbai. Her father passed away when she was fourteen and was raised by her elder brother, Justice Siddharth Mridul.
Sandhya Mridul appeared in several popular serials like ‘Swaabhimaan’, ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, ‘Koshish’, ‘Hu Ba Hu’, ‘Aashirwaad’ and ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin’. Sandhya Mridual a household name after playing the female lead in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Koshish: Ek Asha’. In fact the show was dubbed in Chinese and was telecasted in China in the year 2005 where it became a huge success. Sandhya Mridul featured as the host in ‘Extraa Innings’ an exclusive show that was the part of the Cricket World Cup 2003. Sandhya Mridul enhanced her portfolio by acting in Pratap Sharma's play "Zen Katha" based on the life of Buddha.
Sandhya forayed into bollywood with yash Chopra’s ‘Saathiya’ directed by Shaad Ali. Released in 2002, ‘Saathiya’ became a huge commercial and critical success. Sandhya Mridul played a pivotal role alongside Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukherji and Tanuja in ‘Saathiya’. ‘Saathiya’ won several awards including six Filmfare Awards, four Filmfare Awards, two IIFA Awards, three MTV Immies and two Bollywood Movie Awards.

Ltd.’ alongside Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani, Amisha Patel and Abhay Deol, Shashanka Ghosh’s Indian Comedy-Drama’ Quick Gun Murugun’ alongside Rajendra Prasad, Ranvir Shorey and Rambha.
Sandhya Mridul was appreciated for her effective portrayal of Inspector Agni Sinha in Shashanka Ghosh’s cult movie ‘Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II’. The film also featured Arshad Warsi and Prashant Narayanan. She played a significant role in Tanveer Khan’s ‘Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante’ starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Irfan Khan and Rajit Kapur. ‘Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante’ was supposedly the remake of Hollywood thriller ‘Trapped’ starring Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon.
Sandhya Mridul became the first runner up of the popular reality dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa- season 2’ aired on Sony Entertainment Television. The show was judged by Jeetendra, Urmila Matondkar and Shiamak Davar. Bollywood actress Prachi Desai was declared the winner while TV personality Jay Bhanushali became the second runner up. Sandhya was the youngest and only Indian jury member14th Television Festival, 2008 held in Shanghai.
