The manufacture of silk follows several steps, first is the reeling. This is done by hands with the use of raw silk. At present this is done by simple machines in factories which are called filatures by several countries in the Orient and in Europe. The second step is the throwing. This is done by proper preparation by doubling and twisting the raw silk to its desired thickness and strength. This is also commonly practiced now in modern technology like large scale machines and big mills. After the process of throwing, silk develops into three different forms, namely the singles, noted to be the untwisted form, used in fabrics that are very delicate. The next one is twisted and doubled form, often used in variety of fabrics which are made of singles in organzine that are twisted in one way singles. Third is the double and twisted form, used in heavy fabrics and done in opposite directions. For Silk Sarees the thread used likely for embroidery and sewing is more pleasant if it is made up of smoother twists and doubles. The final completion of the loom is done by spinning the frames in most modern high tech companies we have today. Before dyeing the silk, it is boiled by the used of soapsuds to remove unnecessary elements such as gums. Excluded in the procedure are the pale tints and whites for it must be bleached to highlight its color. Other textiles of the Silk Sarees may be done by weaving but be cautious of the specialized and delicate looms.
